Headphones

I'm thinking of getting a set of headphones, anyone know of a good set, which ones do you recommend, must sound good AND be comfortable, Thanks

What's your price range and what will you be driving them with?

Up to a hundred dollars and I will be driving them with a ADCOM GFP 555II which is driving a Carver M-1.5t

If I was going to buy a new pair I'd get Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones. Less than $200.00. Good reviews.

 

If I was rich, I'd get Sennheiser HD800 Audiophile Headphones @ $1799.95.

 

I've been most impressed by old Sennheisers, but they usually need new foam ear pads. Sound is way better than Koss.

Look at the Grado line for that price point.

They're on ear, not over ear but you can always open up the securing band a bit (carefully).

I have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-D40fs stereophones I've had for years.

Love 'em, a bit bass heavy as they were designed with drummers in mind.

Price is under $100,00 

My wife recently won a pair of Grado's, model  iGrado.

I was very impressed with the sound quality.

Can be had for around $50.00.

I don't do 'phones often, and don't have experience with the more expensive sets.

+2  Rarely listen to headphones, but the Grado 80's have served me well when I do. Decent sound and won't break the bank. Works with MP3 players also.
