PDR 1,192 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Ok, you guys wanted to see it... My version of a DIY spin clean. Only real difference is I'm adding soft bristles on each side of the micro fiber pads. It will slide into a painted MDF box, this will keep the top from bulging out like it is now. It will put pressure on the pads as well. Yes, I could of bought one....but no fun in that.
Gene C 1,748 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Cool! Good job Perry. You going to add a handle or something to spin that record?
PDR 1,192 Posted September 20, 2013 Author Posted September 20, 2013 Nope Gene, it a hands on device....
zumbini 6,146 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Nicely done Perry Are ya gonna make a cool video like that too?

Actually it looks like a ingenious solution. Now do I want to try to build yours or MadMike's.......
BarryG 2,853 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 This looks like it should work well. I have one of the yellow spin cleans, I would expect yours would work as well or better. The spin clean is simple and works good though my hands get tired if I do a bunch of albums at once.
peck555 366 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Great Idea, what did you use for the plastic tub?
dennismiller55 4,741 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Only real difference is I'm adding soft bristles on each side of the micro fiber pads. Is that a re-purposed toilet brush? If so, then that's thinking outside the bowl.
bkanaley 0 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Very nice design. That looks like half of a water jug and you have a nice way to empty the spent fluid. Looking forward to the infomercial video
PDR 1,192 Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 Yep the plastic tub is one of those skinny water containers you stick in the fridge, The brush.....nope, not a toilet scrubber ......is a mag cleaning brush from Wally world. Gonna be a while till I get back to this....have a project outta town for work, and a tone arm thats taking priority.
