Gene C 1,745
Sorry, I like Smashing Pumpkins but they don't belong in the top 10 for double albums, maybe top 40. The Mothers of Invention - Freak Out, The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland, The Who - Tommy and Frank Zappa - Sheik Yerbouti deserve to be in the mix before Smashing Pumpkins, even though SP came up where I grew up. Belvedere2 170
I'd make the Wall 1st and The Who Tommy #2. Zep #3. The rest can sort themselves out.
HappyTrails 498
Sadly I only own half of them on vinyl. A problem I need to rectify

weitrhino 1,425
Scorpions ~ Tokyo Tapes This double live in Japan album marked the end of the Uli-Jon Roth era and nicely summarizes the band's output through the 70's. I recently heard a bootleg of the same performance that had a couple more tunes but the recording was very poor.
SteveFord 1,060
I'd add Roxy and Elsewhere by Zappa/Mothers. Not that it matters but as to agree, I'd go with: 08. Allman Bros - Live at the Fillmore East 07. The Who - Quadrophenia 01. The Beatles (White Album) The rest of them don't really interest me very much. I can't believe they left out Tommy and Layla but what do I know?

Balok 1,410
Balok, Just HOW do you know that's a double album? My ma and pa tried their hand (or feet) at disco in the late seventies. They bought the album and I still have it. Altho I just spent the last 20 minutes looking for it and can't find it, but its around here somewhere.
