Miroslav Vitous, Mountain Call was released on March, 27, 2026. "Ten years after his last album with ECM, as the label's liner notes tell us, Vitous creates with Mountain Call, a sort of musical self-portrait that demonstrates his immense talent as an improviser, composer and sampling pioneer. The album strikes a balance between spontaneous improvisation and sequences in which the recording studio's technology is put at the musicians' service, like a canvas on which to paint brand new soundscapes." Five Finger Death Punch, Legacy was released on July 31, 2026. "Against all odds, Five Finger Death Punch has attained one of the most successful runs in Hard Rock/Metal in the modern era. A band that formed in 2005, Five Finger Death Punch essentially came out of nowhere in 2007 with their self-produced, self-released debut album, The Way of the Fist. From there, 2009’s War Is the Answer went Platinum, while almost all of the albums since have reached at least Platinum, if not Gold." This album is panned as much as it's praised. If you like/love FFDP, you'll like this album. Most of the negative reviews say, "lazy, repeated rifts from previous albums" and one even said that with each new album, they find a new low. To each their own I guess. I like FFDP, but I don't love them. I don't play them often, but War Is The Answer is on my phone, and it's great gym music. They're certainly not for everyone. YMMV

Definitely mesmeric/experimental at times. Very good.

Sounds of April & Randall, Dishes Ain't Clean was released on August 21, 2026. "April May Webb and Randall Haywood’s Dishes Ain’t Clean blends jazz, soul, R&B and pop into an authentic, vibrant album about love, imperfection and self acceptance, highlighted by Webb’s remarkable voice and Haywood’s inventive musicianship." Jeff Parker, Happy Today was released on May 15, 2026. "If there is one thing Jeff Parker does as a guitarist and impromptu composer, it is to spellbind. Since the tail end of the 1990s, with his quiet, insistent subversion of form, function and genre, he’s turned jazz guitar on its ambience-infused heels with a mesmeric, always improvisational, tech-driven set of tones and rhythms that sound fleshy and all too human." Welcome to the Carver site!! Should be an interesting pairing. I use a 6cb in one of my systems. What's the candidate for the preamp? As for the music side, records or cd's?

Hello ngrrbear and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us! My all time favorite speakers for jazz, acoustic, classical, blues, and everything else are Martin Logan electrostatics. They do have a weakness though, and that is the sweet spot is tiny and narrow. In my case, that's exacerbated by the small bedroom that my 2.1 channel setup is in. That's just my old ears though. The Carver TFM amps are very popular here. Many folks have them and love them. The TFM 6cb owners and service manuals are available in our database. If you've not found them already, just click on the Manuals and Specsheets link on the top of the page. It will take you to our database, and then scroll down in the small window to the Stereo Amplifiers section. I hope that helps.

Hi all! I’ve been researching speakers for listening to jazz, quartets, acoustic instruments. Based on my listening preferences I’ve settled on the classic 3 way- I’m also a cabinet maker and have built speaker enclosures for others- but never for myself. I think I’ve settled on the SEAS 403 Revisited. A friend of mine who owns a number of Carver amplifiers offered up her TFM-6CB in support my endeavor. I was directed to this site on another forum as a source for manuals- voilá! Here I am.
