This is incorrect. I've blown too many tweeters to count with passive xovers. I've blown none with active. Pair a low watt amp amp with them and set your processor correctly and it is much better than a passive xover.

I have a Marantz AV7704 and am happy with it. I am not sure on the separate HDMI outs though. Why not just add a HTPC to the mix? I am typing this on mine. One output goes to a monitor next to the couch, other goes to Marantz.

Lights shouldn't be dimming throughout the house. Especially not LED. They should only dim if they're on the same circuit. A breaker isn't always going to trip from an amp. Lots of transient power requirements. It takes constant overload to trip a breaker. I'm guessing the amp is on a 15 amp circuit? If you go by code, constant power draws should be 80% of what a breaker is rated for. So if that amp is drawing 12 amps, that's all code rates that circuit for.
