There is much to appreciate in the posts here, some bring back memories, others curios–I don't get to all of them for a listen. This is like browsing the music reviews in RollingStone, DownBeat, Jazz Times, et al., off the magazine shelf at your local bookseller.

That's a good tune, BluesMan, inspired finding the composer himself.

We went to Brevard Music Center, an outdoor venue, on the campus of Brevard College, for a concert by Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn & the Brevard Festival Orchestra. They opened the evening as a duo (most songs from their CD), then after intermission, Bela performed his The Impostur Concerto with the orchestra, and last, the duo was accompanied by the orchestra. The latter was a trio of songs sublime, moving, lifted exquisitely by the orchestra. As Bela quipped, it was their chance to "dominate the orchestra...with two banjos."

Estonian composer, Arvo Pärt, rendered by Canadian violinist, for quiet mornings.
