  1. James Brown!
  2. Late afternoons have been punctuated with downpours, much to my liking.
  3. New release, set the knob to 11!
  4. My wife liked the SDA 1.2tl (is that your flagship model?) > Silver ALS; I preferred Silver ALS>Polks. All good! Zumbini/Zack now has the Polks, Phil the ALS. Each of the speakers has been refurbished by the new owners. All good!
  5. My introduction to this came via Frank Zappa's cover of Stolen Moments on Broadway The Hardway. Chanced upon a vinyl copy of the Oliver Nelson recording and I am impressed that Zappa's version is remarkably spot-on.
  6. Welcome, Hambone. 901s were my first "that's what I want someday" speaker; they were a trade-up from 501s. 901s, a Bose spatial receiver with the built-in EQ, and a turntable–that was a happy setup. Some members are original 901 owners like yourself. You will find posts & pictures in Search, including reference to a set used for DJ-ing at the party barn. Good luck on your projects!
  7. Charlie, we saw Todd Park Mohr when he was touring solo 100 Years of Robert Johnson. My wife really liked the performance, enough to go searching for the recording & learn about Big Head Todd & The Monsters. But it was the solo flavor she was after. That said, for those getting to our own member's Blue Mouth Promotions tour of Mike Kenneally & Travis Larson Band, this play is hints at the style of TLB. Blue Mouth Promotions, how about a Travis Larson Band & Steve Morse Band tour...routed through Western NC?
  8. Marcus Miller & Miles Davis, Music from Siesta (soundtrack). Kinda like a Sketches of Spain with Marcus Miller in the shoes of Gil Evans & handling most of the instruments. With a heavy downpour cooling the evening this moody music is apropos.
