  1. Spun a Bill Laswell remix, Illuminated Audio, recently but this Gigi is the better of the two. Saw her years ago, opening for Baaba Maal–an Ethiopian chanteuse," her seductive tones are warm enough to translate into any language."
  2. Babylon Sisters here are in an adagio mood: Shake it! but ever so serenely.
  3. Let the good times play!
  4. Dennis, I recall (fuzzy) in Rolling Stone an Allman Bros. cover story/feature article/interview, way back before widespread recognition, the phrase someone said , maybe Jaimoe, exclaiming in the interview hittin' the note, signifying an expression of flow/joy, "that moment in time when the music, musicians and audience united…when the soul was moved to experience joy through the power of music." That (plus college life & affordable mood-altering stuff, music being one) piqued my interest, leading to seeking Idlewild South, and more. Maybe someone can chime in with their own (mood-altered) memories, maybe even a copy of that Rolling Stone . Meanwhile:
  5. Got this old LP from a secondhand store & its is available@Amazon as a free Android download here.
  6. Love Danny Gatton! Meanwhile, the Bill Laswell remix of Ethiopian singer Gigi’s airy, melismatic voice:
  7. Dave-Em, When I have seen Ronnie Earl he came out afterwards to greet fans and amiably talk. Hope the opportunity prevails for you.
  8. A switch whilst cooking dinner, Cuong Vu suits me but does not get the nod of approval from my sweetheart. This comes into play in its stead:
  9. Dennis, I see The Rides on PBS' live music shows, not Austin City Limits, but on Front And Center. I am out-of-synch with the broadcasts since moving. Edit: Posted as a FYI, Dennis already knows this.
  10. I enjoy Cuong Vu, his breathy, atmospheric trumpet, in Pat Metheny Group tours & recordings. This arrived in the mailbox today.
  11. Zumbini, The Carlo Sound sticker, the very same Carlo Sound you logged duty with?
  12. Roger Eno, Between Tides
