Craigslist "big subwoofer, doesn't work $20" cool0016.gif20140508203911939.jpeg

It should have read "Big UGLY subwoofer, doesn't work"
It took two people to lift it!

The Drivers were massive 13 inchers! One in the back up top and one in front on the bottom. Sealed configuration. msp_thumbup.gif

First, tear the thing apart literally. The front fascia is just butt ugly with ugly cloth. I tore all of it off leaving a basic box. Chucked the amp, it was cooked. Chucked the remote control receiver. Threw the plastic base out too!
Time for some walnut. I love walnut. emsmilep.gif

Custom walnut baffle for the new 350 watt amp to fit on. Add the amp and the drivers.

From the Leagcy owner's manual: "Each cabinet is impeccably finished on all exposed surfaces with select veneers. The exquisite finish is hand-rubbed several times to assure a patina at home withe most elegant decor." Looks like you have done a factory refurbishment. Very nice!

That was an AWESOME build! You really brought it back to life and made it look GREAT!!!

Are both of those drivers or is one passive? Are the two of them suited to the internal volume and did you put any damping material in?

Amazing work, Paul! eusa_clap.gif Much better than the original. I'm always impressed by people who know how to work with wood, I can't do a darn thing with the stuff.

That's some mighty big chain hanging next to your miter saw! Is that real (made of steel), or just a decoration?
