BarryG 2,853 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Page 10 of user manual is a good starting point! Carver ALS Silver Edition Owner's Manual 1
metalbent 103 Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 Is it because i'm a novice so I can't download the manual? 1
Sk1Bum 11,436 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 You should be able to download all manuals even if you're not a member. 1

metalbent 103 Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 (edited) So got tilt set, distance from walls and distance apart. Manual is not to clear on toe in. Thinking it depends on sitting position. Would like to hear how others have theirs setup. Dim's would be appreciated. Also states they should be on a rug and not wood floor. I'm on wood. Wonder what size rug? Edited August 14, 2020 by metalbent 1
cuda 526 Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 The room shape matters a lot but a good rule of thumb is to point the ribbons at your ears at the seated position. Then back it off a little at a time until you have good sound stage. 1 1

Before I purchased the Plats, the Silvers were in the Plats current position just how they are now with ribbons on the inside. Keep the Silvers at least 3 feet away from the rear walls. You just have to play with the toe in until the sound stage is optimal...took me about an hour to get the best positions....mark the floor with tape as a reference point. I'am also thinking of adding pedestals to all 4 of my Carvers as well due to my hard wood floors...would be an even better sound stage. Still can't get the cue ball to move yet even with the system cranked and both 12" subs on....need more horsepower! Edited August 14, 2020 by aceman117
