Lost my 92 year old mom today. No shock; we all been expecting it at anytime for the past couple of weeks.. She in Ohio with my siblings; I in California with my very dependents. Funeral in two weeks which I and children will of course attend. However, in the meantime (today) we got together (youngest daughter and SO) and had a nice "blow out" that consisted of a nice barbecue, lot's of beer and MUSIC. I'm sure my very artistic mom would approve; I'm so sure (she a great pianist and painter and poet)..

But to the topic: the great music was a key component to this "blow out" and its fidelity and "fullness" and power was some how very key as a "back drop" to the "ceremony" and I just don't think "average" music would have been at all the same. Just another reason why high fidelity is different and important.....

Sorry for your loss elgrau; I'm to attend my grandmother's 90th late this August, and we're hoping she makes it.

elgrau.....deepest sympathy....even expected it has to hurt.....

music means different things to each of us......but because we gather here, it means a lot.....

I am glad you have found a way to  use it in a way that heals.......rock on bro.......

best to you and yours......

Italians also have that "celebrate the living" approach. Makes it difficult to tell a funeral from a wedding.

My condolences to you and your family elgrau.

Sorry to hear of your loss elgrau! She certainly sounds like a woman whom enjoyed the finer things in life and probably enriched all those she touched.
