rock-and-roll 7 Posted Friday at 08:38 PM Posted Friday at 08:38 PM New to the group. I have some gear to sell. Any suggestions from members who have bought or sold gear on here would be much appreciated. TIA 7
Charlie 18,113 Posted Friday at 09:11 PM Posted Friday at 09:11 PM You need a detailed list of what you have, the condition of it and some references as to your ability to carry through with any deal. Because you are new here, it might be hard to secure any deal simply because no one knows who you are. You will also need to make more posts so you can upload pics as anyone who might be interested would like to see what they might invest in. BTW Welcome! 1
3M_Audio 2,262 Posted Friday at 09:56 PM Posted Friday at 09:56 PM Welcome! In addition to what @Charlie posted above, also include where you are located. A lot of stereo gear is pretty heavy, and shipping safely is somewhat complex and expensive (unless you happen to have the original boxes and all the packaging), so a local buyer (or someone willing to drive to you for a couple of hours) often is the easiest solution. And check out escrow.com - it's a great, safe way for unknown buyers and sellers to do business. 2
Sk1Bum 12,711 Posted Friday at 10:00 PM Posted Friday at 10:00 PM Hello rock-and-roll and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us! We do have a trading arear for Novices and Members. You won't be able to access it until you reach Novice status. Charlie and Glenn both gave you good advice to help you sell your gear. 1
Community Admin AndrewJohn 10,805 Posted Friday at 10:37 PM Community Admin Posted Friday at 10:37 PM Welcome, and pictures are always good..., Unlike the "rules" of some Carver-named Facebook Groups, we are pretty flexible - but as noted above by previous responders, location and ask price is helpful - and you might get some offers. Location (city or zip code) helps people calculate add'l cost for shipping if they are not co-located, or could get you a local buyer that might want to come over and check out your equipment. People here won't be shy about helping you align price with actual value. There's a forum topic just for listing selling and buying..., check it out in the home-page index, see an image of that part of the index, below..., you get to it on the home page, and scrolling down to the section called "Trading Post." FWIW, Karma is where people can also give gear away..., Read a few posts there, and you'll get the idea. I circled "Novice" because you're new here, and the thoughts above about building trust by participating in TheCarverSite help you get out of that secion - to the Members gear (FS/WTB) section. ESCROW is a good site to check out - and, alternatively, some folks will list their gear on eBay, and just include a link here in the For Sale forum topics. Again, Welcome to TheCarverSite!
Kurt 3,167 Posted Sunday at 04:03 PM Posted Sunday at 04:03 PM Welcome to the site! You'll find interest here, potentially in what you are selling. Lot's of OCCD here (Obsessive Carver Collecting Disorder).
paulscube 2 Posted Sunday at 04:26 PM Posted Sunday at 04:26 PM I have 2 M-400t cubes. I have had them since the 80s. No service to date. One started smokeing after i smelled something electrical. I want to fix or have it fixed and service the other one because they have lived the same life 2
Half Life 1,087 Posted yesterday at 09:02 AM Posted yesterday at 09:02 AM Welcome from Virginia! Enjoy your stay! For repairs, check out Nelion. @Nahash5150 is the owner and can likely repair your cubes. 1
