Hello all, I just acquired a Carver stack (M1.0t - inverting, C-1, and TX-11a) and am looking forward to getting them all up and running, and perhaps modded as well (definitely the BillD mods to the C-1). I normally hang out over on AK, as I have only had one piece of Carver gear in years past, MX-130 which I was able to bring back to life after reflowing numerous solder joints, but sold it while I was out of work. I've repaired lots of different brands and types of equipment, though I can't do full testing of things, so I'm ceertainly not a true tech, but I do have good soldering/desoldering equipment, cheap component tester, several DMMs, and a decent parts inventory. The M1.0t was listed as non-working, and that's what I just opened up yesterday to see if it was anything obvious. I suppose I should start a thread over in the Amp section of the forums with the info, so I guess that's all for now for this thread. Just wanted to say Hi and give a little background of what I may (or may not) be able to handle whilst doing the work. Guess I'll need to wait to rank in order to start a thread....😉 John

Hi, I just purchased two non-working M1.0t amps with the plan to send them for upgrades & repairs. I joined this site to get more info, get the manuals, and see what pre-amp will work for my system, be it a Carver pre-amp or another brand. My current system is nothing special, besides the speakers which are special to me: NAD 7240PE receiver, Marantz Network Audio Player NA6006, Pioneer PD-F19 300+1 CD "jukebox", and a Onkyo CP-1036A turntable. The speakers are Magnepan 1.6 QRs I bought in December 1998, had them refurbished by Magnepan in 2021 and Magnepan then drop-shipped them to "Peter Gunn" in PA. Peter modified the 1.6s by building custom stands and custom cross-overs for them. I look forward to learning about Carver.

Hello all! my name is Rudy; I found this site by happenstance as I was doing a search for service manuals for two components units of my stereo system. I have been wanting to sit back and enjoy listening to my library of music, but my work and commute time severely limited my ability to enjoy some quiet time. Now at stage of my life there have been changes. I am a recent retiree and have more than enough time to enjoy my system, which consists of a complete Carver setup. My system consists of. TFM-42 amp C-11 preamp DPL-33 Surround processor TDR-2400 dual cassette player SD/A -360 multi-disc player TX-8 tuner I paired this with. Sony PS-T3 direct drive turntable Cerwin Vaga M-100 main speakers Braun AG L200 rear speakers DLK dual voice coil downward facing subwoofer and a few other odds and ends I wanted to use my CD player, but the tray failed to open (due to lack of use) So I searched for service manuals for what I have and found most of what I needed. Now I just have to dust off my test gear and do some troubleshooting (reminds me of work) then I can finally sit back and listen to my library of music. Thanks for adding my name to this forum now I have a great source for all things Carver.

I have 2 M500t that had the Nelion MKII upgrade. Just wondering what others who own the same amps and have the MKII upgrade, what is most noticeable in how they sound to you after the upgrade? To me it is like night and day. They sound as good as my Yamaha M2 and Harman Kardon Citation 16. I am using ads L710's and L880's speakers.

Just found this site, Carver fan for many years. Currently running C-4000 with Adcom 555ii, Audio Alchemy digital drive system III with Polk SDA 1Bs. Have another system I’m building and might search for a carver cd player.

I am a new member in Chicago and looking for assistance with a Sunfire AVR. Happy to pay someone for their time. Unit has a buzzing coming out of one channel. I either need to replace it or fix it. My integrator wants thousands of dollars to replace it with a Denon which requires new programming. I'd rather fix the Sunfire or buy a used one that doesn't have a buzz. But even in a swap situation, I need help. Afternoon project? All fun? $$$$ and lots of praise, gratitude and compliments? calanc @ Yahoo.com
