  1. OTD, BillWojo is correct--screw holes on the bottom plate go toward the sides rather than front to back.
  2. The yellow wire goes to the woofers...looks like the one on the left has the yellow going to the ribbon?
  3. This Duetsche Grammaphone recording of Ravel's "Bolero" is excellent & exhibits extraordinary dynamic range. Caution must be used when listening at high volume levels!! While "Bolero" was the most famous piece, I really like "La Valse". It is a wild piece with crazy dynamic jumps!
  4. If you open it up, it may be clear upon visual inspection what component is bad...
  5. "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats. Kill me.
  6. Assuming the subs share the same frequency range, you are tri-amping.
  7. http://thecarversite.com/yetanotherforum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=3174 You only need to hear the ribbons once without the passive crossovers holding them back, and it will never be the same again...
  8. Personally, I think the AL-IIIs image better than ANY of the other Amazings, perhaps due to tha narrow, shaped wing. Supplement the low end below 40 hz with a quality sub & you're set!
  9. you could have 2 really nice pair of Amazings for that price....
  10. Everyone should at least HEAR a JL Audio Gotham at some point in their life. The MACK DADDY of subwoofers, with a price to match: $12,000.00 MSRP. Two massive 13.5" subs with a 3,800 watt (RMS) amp & room correction software. The utter smoothness & UNGODLY KICK literally take your breathe. I guarantee you've never heard anything remotely like it. http://www.jlaudio.com/home-audio-powered-subwoofers-gotham
  11. This sub kicks ass. Not like a JL Audio sub, but it also didn't COST what a JL costs...
  12. In my experience, the lower you set your crossover, the better.
  13. The Sunfire subs have to overcome the physical limitation of box size to reproduce a given note that would be much easier with a large enclosure. Anyone who has had one has seen it "dance" across an uncarpeted floor~
  14. SOME of the Rane units have RCA connectors, too....
