  1. Ryan Keberle, Choro Das Aguas was released on July 18, 2025. "It’s rare that an album commands attention so swiftly and decisively as the latest release from trombonist Ryan Keberle and his ensemble, Catharsis. This sixth studio effort is a genuine revelation, not merely because it is exquisitely arranged and thoughtfully constructed, but because it achieves what once might have seemed improbable: placing the trombone front and center in the vibrant, rhythm-laced world of Brazilian jazz, and doing so with breathtaking elegance." 2. Marcus Rutz, Many Moons was released on August 4, 2025. "The album’s title, Many Moons, serves as a thematic anchor: a poetic nod to the way time shapes music, as a marker of experience, as a sculptor of memory, and as a companion to creativity. Each track reflects a phase in that continuum, with the music unfolding like journal entries written under different skies, across different seasons. In Rutz’s own words, the process of composing, performing, and recording stretched across months, becoming a form of living research into the present moment, a study in artistic mindfulness. This isn’t just a collection of tunes; it’s a chronicle." You can read the rest of the review here...
  3. Carlos Camilo, Allure was released on July 15, 2025. I couldn't find any reviews of this album, so you get to suffer through my prose. Carlos Camilo is a Cuban pianist, singer, composer now based in Miami. His music is certainly Cuban flavored with North American influences. When I first listened to this, I thought great Salsa rhythms, and he was playing a guitar. Fooled me completely, but a synthesizer can do strange and wonderful things. According to his website, carloscamilo.com, he has released 55 albums, 7 this year and 10 last year. Busy man... https://music.apple.com/us/artist/carlos-camilo/452012928/see-all?section=full-albums You can read his biography here...
  4. Danny Widdicombe & Trichotomy, Iridescence was released on July 25, 2025. "Insightful collaboration is at the heart of amazing jazz. Australian group Trichotomy joins with singer-songwriter Danny Widdicombe on Iridescence with conviction and conscientiousness. Jazz infused with roots and folk music makes this release something somewhat rare, featuring a variety of songs, from pure instrumentals to vocal tracks; these two artists achieve an amiable and inspired balance. There is a tender warmth, heartfelt devotion, and retro attitude that propels the ten originals." You can read the rest of the review here...

  13. Hey gents, this a great discussion and all, but it should have it's own thread in the proper area: https://thecarversite.com/forum/15-carver-automotive-gear/ This area is for introductions. @Craigmoates, if you will create the thread, I'll move the appropriate posts from this thread to the new one. No worries.

  17. Jimmy Greene, As We Are Now was released on July 25, 2025. "Named the critics’ choice in DownBeat magazine’s annual poll, As We Are Now is more than a triumph of musicianship, it is a poignant musical meditation on personal wellness and, by extension, the collective healing of Greene’s family and community. The album arrives more than a dozen years after the unthinkable loss of his daughter Ana, who was murdered during the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. While previous albums such as Beautiful Life offered grief distilled into melody, As We Are Now emerges not from the ruins, but from the soil turned anew, resilient, questioning, and full of breath." 18. Bruce Harris & Ehud Asherie, Thank You Barry Harris was released on January 17, 2025. "Thank You, Barry Harris is a musical note of gratitude from two of the many students who he inspired — trumpeter Bruce Harris and pianist Ehud Asherie. Together, they explore seven Barry Harris compositions plus two originals they dedicate to their mentor, teacher and friend. " You can read the rest of the review here...
  19. Maria Muldaur, One Hour Mama - The Blues of Victoria Spivey was released on July 11, 2025 "From the opening, you’ll wonder if the set was recorded in the late 1920s or now. But that’s the finesse Maria Muldaur offers. Authenticity is added to “My Handy Man,” filled with clever double-entendre lyrics written when we were all molecules. Maria’s voice is suited to these slices of cool & her sultry bluesy narrative possesses the necessary originality before the Legion of Decency reared its ugly head. The music’s played in the spirit of an era enlivened by playfully suggestive lyrics. Call it race music, bawdy music hall, or vaudeville. Maria never tosses in any thought of imitation or parody. Lonnie Johnson’s 1930 “What Makes You Act Like That?” features Elvin Bishop sounding remarkably like an octogenarian blues legend. Impressive." You can read the rest of the review here...
  20. The Chicago Underground Quartet, Good Days (album) This album reminds me of Miles. Some of it is not easy for me to listen to, and that's probably why I rarely play it.
  21. Four80East, TKO from the Round 3 album.
  22. Hello 1ProudAirman and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us, and thank you for your service. I wish I could help you out, but the last time I tried to fix electronics, I burned myself when I discovered I was holding the soldering iron upside down. The Carver receivers are popular here, so hopefully someone with experience working on and servicing them will chime in and suggest some places to start troubleshooting.
  23. Pat Benatar, Nick Giraldo, Austin City Limits She can still wail, and I am impressed at how unselfish they were as performers. They share the stage perfectly, and they've been married 40+ years. I saw them perform a few years ago at my favorite small venue, and it was an outstanding show.
  24. Hello Chainsaw and welcome to thecarversite.com . Glad you found us. There's lots of knowledge here to help you get your gear going, but don't look at me for any of it. I'm just the village idiot.
  25. RIP Chuck Mangione, Feels So Good (album)
