Bonjour, nouveau sur votre site...
Sk1Bum replied to YVES67550's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
Hello yves and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us. I'm not one that can answer your question, but maybe someone who can will chime in. The professional models of Carver amplifiers are popular here, so hopefully someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Your translation missed the part about the equipment you have, so I included it in my response If this response isn't understandable, blame Google's translator. I only speak 2 languages, English and bakalot. My parents used to say I talk back a lot. -
Hello gallagher1 and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us. I started out with an M400t, and it grew into a menagerie. Now that you've reached Novice status, please consider uploading pics of your gear in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of all kinds of stereo and home theater gear.

The Doobie Brothers, Walk This Road was released on June 6, 2025. "With the Doobie Brothers' 16th LP, Walk This Road, McDonald joins cofounders Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons and guitarist John McFee, an on-and-off member since 1980, for their most satisfying album since their late-'70s heyday. Some of that credit belongs to McDonald's return, but as soon as he shares vocals on "Learn to Let Go"'s chorus with Johnston and Simmons, proof that the band has always been greater than just one person comes into clear focus." Rembrandt Frerichs Trio, Blue Hour Sessions was released on June 6, 2025. "Rembrandt is a musician's musician—an artist of immense and subtle sensibilities. He breathes jazz, but infuses his playing with influences from music of the Baroque to music of the Middle East. In this album, the music is a collection of standards from the Great American Songbook—familiar, yet anything but predictable. The sound we hear is uniquely fresh and different. It comes from Rembrandt's mood and emotional connection to the song. And each piece reflects a performance style that is wholly that of the Rembrandt Trio—nothing derivative, nothing imitative, just pure music freshly flowing from a collective sense of what sounds right and true in the moment. Peter Smith, Smitty Straightens Out was released on April 11, 2025. "An album that captivates from the very first notes, drawing the listener into a world where the composer and pianist masterfully channels his years of experience into a singular, compelling, and spectacular style. One can already sense the power of its live performance, as the artist’s greatest strength undoubtedly lies in the sheer effectiveness of his arrangements." Tony Saunders, The Romance Continues was released on August 16, 2024. The latest album "The Romance Continues" is a 15 song set the clocks in at just over an hour. It is as smooth as lake water on a calm night and cool as the underside of the pillow. One of the things that becomes apparent is the ensemble effort of a team of great players. There is plenty of space for everyone to shine on these songs and they collectively knock the ball out of the park. C1 Preamp mod - BillD or HiTech Audio version
Sk1Bum replied to MikeC's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
Yes, I found a C1 in excellent shape on ebay. I used it for a few months, and then sent it to @Daddyjt. He did the BillD upgrade, remote volume, Gundry filter, and IEC plug. He did an outstanding job. The most noticeable improvements are dead silence with no input and volume turned to 11, less gain, and of course the convenience of the remote volume control. Mark did excellent work, and barring catastrophe, that pre will outlast me. I hope one of my daughters enjoys it as much as I do. Nelion is an excellent choice. Greg does excellent work, and he's done the mkII opt002 mod on a few M1.0ts for me. I have one more to go. -

Hi Mike and welcome aboard. I have a BillD C1 with a M1.0t mkII opt 002 drive a pair of Infinity RS IIIa's, and it sounds very good. The C1 is dead silent, the M1.0t is powerful, and the speakers can take it. I just wish my ears could. Glad you found us. -
Cyrus Chestnut, Rhythm, Melody, and Harmony was released on April 25. 2025. "Cyrus Chestnut’s latest release, Rhythm, Melody and Harmony, is a trio-plus-one session that puts another notch in a prolific discography. The well-structured set has a vibrant blueprint for modern acoustic jazz flavored with contemporary gospel. Chestnut’s playing has always married virtuosity with narrative clarity, and here, with saxophonist Stacy Dillard, bassist Gerald Cannon, and drummer Chris Beck, he leads a quartet with a true sense of cohesion." One of my favorite venues, the Gillioz Theater, hosts an event twice a month they call Midweek Matinee where they show classic movies, and those of us that are 65 or older get in free with a free drink and snack. Yesterday's movie was Vertigo, and it is Alfred Hitchcock intrigue. A couple of trivia facts, the word vertigo is only mentioned once in the movie near the beginning, and Saul Bass designed the opening graphics and the poster. it was the first use of computer animation in a movie. I didn't fact check those. It was what the host told us before the showing. Vertigo can be streamed from Netflix and MAX.

My first job was in a full service gas station, and one of our customers had one of the big Chryslers with the factory turntable. I never heard it play, and I don't know if they ever used it.

Hello ChrisB and welcome to thecarverstie.com Glad you found us. The M500t is a great amp. I have one in my main music listening rig. i think I have a set of the handles somewhere, but I've looked for them before to no avail. I sent a pair to another member here a few months ago, and I think i have another pair. That said, their hide-and-seek skills are far greater than my memory. I'll keep looking though. It's good to have another Missourian here. There are a few of us, but only a couple of us are active. Good to have you aboard, and I hope your search is more fruitful than mine.

All of my streaming is from my NAS. I have about 12 TB of flac files, and I stream them to various house locations in a variety of ways. One of those ways I just recently discovered. I have DNLA servers set up on the NAS itself, i.e., PLEX MinimServer, and the native Media Streamer. I use all of them for various reasons. My home theater and bedroom systems include a FireTV cube, and I have the PLEX and Audacy apps installed on the devices. Both bedroom and Home Theater also have oppo blue ray players that can stream from any of the DNLA servers. I recently discovered that my Marantz AV7702 mkII processor can also stream directly from the NAS. The oppo blue ray players have the best DAC, but as DaddyJT mentioned, the interface is so damn clunky, that I generally use the Plex app for my HT. In my main listening area, I use an oppo 105 to stream. Plex also has an Android app, and probably an IOS app too. I use the Android app on my phone and I can stream anywhere I have a cell phone signal directly from my NAS. I don't use wifi to stream with my phone, because I don't want to see my router and NAS logs fill up with hacking attempts. I will probably add a dedicated streaming device sometime in the future. The Wiim Ultra is the latest one that intrigues me, decent reviews, and a price that doesn't break the bank. I've seen it on sale for $279 at Amazon a few times, and a few times with a 10% off coupon. There are currently no deals, but the price is still reasonable at $329 + tax. https://www.amazon.com/WiiM-Streamer-Touchscreen-Compatible-Headphone/dp/B0D41YCLW8 There's a thread about the Wiim Ultra here: Though If I want to sit, listen, veg out, and get lost in the music, I don't stream at all. I either play SACD, DVD-A, or vinyl.
