    Pandora vs. Spotify

Yep, Tidal High Res for me here. Pandora is nice for background noise, and if you don't mind not being able to sit and listen to a full album. I hate just hearing one song then switching to a totally different artist. With Tidal, I can listen to a full album, and/or a bunch of albums from the same artist. Plus BT streaming in the car is great as well.
  9. Via tunein radio on the Roku, through the Oppo 105D DAC via Toslink.
  10. If you're getting no output in one speaker, either your speaker is shot or the amp is shot. Getting sound in both channels with your headphones has nothing to do with the amp.
  11. That's the way it used to be when I was a kid. Dad would turn his system on, and we would all pile up in the living room to listen to some good music for a few hours. We would talk about various subjects and just have a good time TOGETHER. It certainly isn't like that these days with my girlfriend and her kids. All they care about are stupid computer video games and their cell phones. Heck, they don't even come out and watch movies with us. Even when we go to my parents house, they sit there the entire time with their stupid cell phones plastered to their faces watching video game videos... Man, I miss the good ole' days. And sorry, didn't mean for the little rant.

  13. Crappy Youtube video, but it makes me happy regardless! Thank goodness for the Subharmonic Synthesizer on my dbx!
  14. I have a pair of NHT 2.9's that I had the same problem with. I bought them right after moving into an apartment (now in my second apartment), and could never get them to sound right. They were never lacking in the bass however. I just could never get them to project a convincing sound stage or even get them to image properly. Like you said, the whole pre-determined angle of the speaker baffles and such restrict you from placing them where you need them. Since I couldn't find anyone to buy them for a decent price, I just decided to keep them and store them in my old bedroom at my brother's house. I recently just gave them to my oldest brother to go with the Carver "The Receiver" MXR-130 that I also just gave him. They sound excellent in his room! Go figure... Also, he recently purchased a pair of replacement foam strips for the 2.9's. The eBay seller said he only had a couple of pairs left and wouldn't be making anymore. I'm willing to bet he bought them from you. I just installed those strips for him last week.
  15. Welcome and congrats on the excellent gear purchase! That older Onkyo gear was pretty good. Back in the day, I had a Onkyo DX-C320 6-disc changer. I never had an issue with it and it sounded excellent. It sounded much better than my oldest brother's Carver SD-A450. Also well outlasted it as he had issues with his. It also sounded better than a Parasound C/DP 1000 I had. I bought it new in 1995, sold it 10 years later and have regretted it ever since, though I don't listen to CD's anymore, so... As for the M-500 and C-1 you have there... If you think the C-1 sounds good now, wait until you have the BillD mods made to it. Those mods bring it WAY UP in performance. Likewise for the MKII mods on the M-500. BTW, I'm also in Florida. I don't ride a fast bike, but do drive a fast car. :-D
