  1. That is a great movie and some of my favorite actors.
  2. Amen Amen
  3. For a large room or any room for that matter, I recommend the AT-15 over the 12. Bigger box, bigger ports, and bigger woofer allows for a lower frequency and a wider sweet spot if you know what I mean. I'm a CV fan and if they had a forum half as cool as this one, I'd take part
  4. I have been running 15" CV's for over 30 years now and have no complaints. AT-15 (102dB) and HED U351 (101dB) are among the most sensitive I have seen. Those D9's are much the same. The older models used a bullet horn tweeter that was a little harsh but the AT series has a soft dome that is more pleasant. When I run both sets from my TFM-45, I wire them in series. They can handle lots of power when called upon but can also reveal imperfections in the source due to the high sensitivity. Small power amps can drive them just fine but larger amps can produce thundering and accurate bass. No need for a sub-woofer either way.
  5. May I ask what " Your content will need to be approved by a moderator " is all about?
  6. The AT-15's that I purchased new, developed a split in the bottom right within the first year. They were replaced under warranty and have been good ever since.
  7. Welcome. As a new member, I would encourage you to post questions and pictures. As your post count increases, more features of the site open up. As far as your TFM-35 goes, read through the service manual HERE. Identify any service bulletins needed and familiarize yourself with the layout of the amp.
  8. The CV2000-15 that I did work on had a separate enclosure built in. I think it was rather flimsy and I used silicone caulking to help seal it better.
  9. I was thinking more along the lines of contact or rubber cement that would be easily cleaned up at next re-foam. Crappy Tire sells it too. I have had these speakers over 30 years now and re-foamed them twice using Simply Speakers products. No offense but the gasket maker looks like crap and probably will for the life of the cone, regardless of new surrounds. I will probably bite the bullet and order the SS kit now and an extra tube of glue. I found out the hard way that leftover glue doesn't stick and always use a fresh tube.
  10. I just took a critical listed to my HED U-351's and heard a buzz. Apparently I reversed + and - so the woofer on right side was moving inward instead of outward. Now the surround has began to pull apart from the cone in a 4" long strip, creating the buzz. I don't have any of the SS glue left from the re-foam a few years ago. Any suggestions as to what adhesive to use just to get by until it's time for a full re-foam?

  12. Other than the floor space they take up, 2 - 4 ohm CV's wired in series is an option.
