Telarc International Corporation is an independent record label, based in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, and founded in 1977 by two classically trained musicians and former teachers, Jack Renner and Robert Woods. Originally a classical music-only label, the label has had a long association with Ohio's two most famous orchestras: the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra, as well as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Telarc has since released music from other styles of music including jazz, blues and country music. In 1996, Telarc merged with another independent label, Heads Up, now a Telarc subsidiary. In late 2005 both Telarc and Heads Up were bought by Concord Records... The Telarc Sound Telarc is noted for the high quality of its recordings, encapsulated in the slogan "The Telarc Sound". Its engineers are highly regarded within the recording business, and have led Telarc to 40 Grammy Awards. In 2004 it received the "Label Of The Year" Award from Gramophone Magazine. Telarc was one of the first labels to begin recording music with a 20-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in the late 1980s and has used 24-bit formats since 1996..." Jack Renner, eng.; James Mallinson, prod. DDD. TT: 61:35 "...convey to perfection the full weight of Richard Strauss's opulent orchestration for Zarathustra without the slightest hint of distortion, despite the huge dynamic range both employ. Both have the measure of the venues they are recorded in... ...overall the depth of Previn's vision wins through. ....Previn's Tod und Verklärung has a nobility and breadth, soloists from every section of the orchestra offering up their technical and emotional best in celebration of this wonderful score.—Barbara Jahn" http://www.stereophile.com/content/recordings-june-1989-strauss-ialso-sprach-zarathustrai#vciV9zmepSdsopLs.97

Carver Amazing Platinums - Woofer Wiring
LVMAN777 replied to OldiesButGoodies's topic in Loudspeaker repair
"...Amazing Loudspeaker Platinum Edition The first Platinum Edition was produced from 1989 to 1991. It was actually introduced shortly after the Silver Edition, but probably only to ensure that all of the originals (that it replaced) had been sold. It was the same size as the original, and was available in either natural oiled oak or ebony lacquer finish. The two 30-inch ribbons were replaced by a single 60-inch ribbon driver, and the flat woofers were replaced by 12-inch paper cone drivers. The crossover frequency was 120 Hz. This version featured (linkable) dual speaker binding posts suitable for bi-wiring or passive bi-amping. Frequency response – 23 Hz to 40 KHz Impedance – 8.0 ohms Sensitivity – 89dB The paper cone woofers were each 16 ohms, all wired in parallel, yielding 4 ohms impedance..." Amazing Loudspeaker Platinum Mark IV The Platinum Mark IV was produced from 1991 to 1993. It was originally available in natural oiled oak or ebony lacquer finish (at a higher price), but the ebony finish appears to have been discontinued before 1993. The drivers were the same as in the previous Platinum Edition. The primary differences were the addition of three adjustment controls on the rear panel and the change to a single set of binding posts. The primary specifications were identical to those of the previous Platinum Edition..." from "Harryfan" post 5 years ago , see CARVER site! » The Chain » Loudspeakers » Carver speakers » Carver ALS [AmazingLoudSpeakers] -

"Two men, sentenced to die in the electric chair on the same day were led down to the room in which they would meet their maker. The priest had given the last rites, the formal speech had been given by the warden, and a final prayer had been said among the participants. The Warden, turning to the first man, solemnly asked, "Son, do you have a last request?" To which the man replied, "Yes sir, I do. I love xxxxx...COUNTRY music. Could you please play xxxxxx...Acky Breaky Heart...for me one last time?" "Certainly," replied the warden. He turned to the other man and asked, "Well, what about you, son? What is your final request?" "Please," said the condemned man, "kill me first." http://98.131.123.247/jokes/Criminal-jokes/ -

If you EVER!!! get stuck on the "IT"S A SMALL WORLD" ride at Disneyland.... YOU KNOW... Played OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.... IT'S TORTURE!!! "... It's a Small World (stylized it's a small world) is a water-based dark ride located in theFantasyland area at each of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts worldwide: Disneyland Parkin California, the Magic Kingdom in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. The ride features over 300 brightly costumed audio-animatronic dolls in the style of children of the world, frolicking in a spirit of international unity and singing the attraction's title song, which has a theme of global peace..." "... The Sherman Brothers then wrote "It's a Small World (after all)"[ in the wake of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, which influenced the song's message of peace and brotherhood. When they first presented it to Walt, they played it as a slow ballad. Walt requested something more cheerful, so they sped up the tempo and sang in counterpoint. Walt was so delighted with the final result that he renamed the attraction "It's a Small World" after the Sherman Brothers' song. It is argued that this song is the single most performed and most translated piece of music on Earth..." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It%27s_a_Small_World -

"...Santana was for more than 45 years a friend of fellow Las Vegan and guitar legend B.B. King. Asked about one of his all-time guitar heroes, the man who soared into history at Woodstock summons a song of melancholy. “I’ll tell you what, grab B.B. King and Willie Nelson playing ‘Night Life,’ and it will hit your heart,” he says. “You’ll go, ‘Aaaah!’ If anyone can get 100 standing ovations playing one song, that’s the song.”... http://lasvegasweekly.com/ae/2015/may/27/carlos-santana-reunites-his-classic-bandmates-new-/ No Man Is An Island - John Donne No man is an island, Entire of itself,Every man is a piece of the continent,A part of the main.If a clod be washed away by the sea,Europe is the less.As well as if a promontory were.As well as if a manor of thy friend'sOr of thine own were:Any man's death diminishes me,Because I am involved in mankind,And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.
