@Half Life Thanks. And the answer is Yes! Forget about the grass too many CCR records to spin. I use to live on the other side of the James River for over a year, long ago, Langley. Spent many a weekend at Virginia Beach, Norfolk for a variety of reasons. These are the other units on the left side of the three bay.

Being exposed to Carver gear counts in my eyes. All it takes is that first step. Could it be a nice Carver SD/A-390t 5‑Disc Carousel CD Player, or one of the many amps that Bob has designed. My first step was a TFM 35, and after that .... Dip your toe once and the rest will be history. Good luck on your restoration of the Amber, its kind of a cool looking piece of equipment.

Sounds like a good combination with the ability to add a nice phono card. The option for a tube phono amp is always open. -

I kind of figured that having a 1300 the 103R would be a great addition if that's what you mounted it on. I also have the 103R with a custom built SUT and tube phono preamp. Best combination that I have ever had. -

Welcome to the Carver Site! Nice grouping of equipment. Might need to exercise one sub at a time to familiarize the neighbors what quality sound and base is all about! I have to feel that you graced either one or both of your Turntables with a Denon DL-103 or 103R? If so what did you use for your SUT and phono preamp Once again Welcome! -
@Pete C Welcome to the Carver site!! A very nice grouping of equipment that you have. I started my equipment journey with a variety of dynaco equipment. This is a representation of two of the units I had, Pat5 and a Stereo 400 with meters. @Sk1Bum From this, my journey was along the TFM series of amps, Sunfire and Phase Linear units. Enjoy!!

hi all- I am new to site...have a Carver TFM 24
BobTFM35 replied to Yippikia's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
You are welcome! Another thing you can do is search on eBay for a printer that is producing a hard copy of the manual. Use "Marantz SR 6012 manual" and a few vendors should come up. Look for the ones who do it in color as it will be the better alternative to black and white. -

Welcome to the Carver site!! Do you have the manual to your Marantz along with the Audyssey Sound calibration microphone (ACM1HB) and remote? Do you have your Marantz feeding you tv set? If you have everything setup, and on, including your tv, press the red Music button on the remote and it should bring up a menu where you can switch the sound mode to stereo. Now the Marantz ony channels the sound to the front amp and speakers. You will also notice when you bring up this menu you can switch it into multi channel stereo. -

McIntosh 240 chassis replacement
BobTFM35 replied to Nahash5150's topic in Nelion Audio's Vintage Audio Repair and Restore
@Nahash5150 Well you did it!! A night and day difference. I really like how the old and the new blends together preserving, shall I say its history and still maintaining some of its vintage look. Looks like you had a very good starting system with all the numbering and tagging that I see. Just those wires poking out of the holes gave me anxiety just looking at them. I'm assuming that they are the original tubes? Interesting to see that the unit used 6L6. Just the other day Chris and I were testing the same 6L6, 5881 and a few other tubes out of his vintage guitar amp with a Sencore TC28. Like I said " You have this" and it came out perfect. Great looks and it beat the numbers. Excellent!! Excellent!! Excellent!! -
Welcome to the Carver Site!! That's a great selection of Carver gear to start out with. What is the amp if I may ask?

Welcome to the Carver Site!! Like your listing of gear. My son has the 1090 in one system and the 400 used in the second of his three systems. Is the 400 the first series or the second series? Enjoy the site and the modifications of your gear!! -
