@w3wilkes Welcome to the Carver Site!! If I was getting either one or two M1.0t, I would get them with the option to switch between mono and stereo. This way I can enjoy the versatility it affords me in the way it can be deployed in my system. Also checkout the manual that available on the website for more information. When its hooked up as a mono amp the speakers are hooked up differently. -

Sunfire True Subwoofer MKIV
BobTFM35 replied to Hasratt Mohamed's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
@Hasratt Mohamed I echo the recommendation of @AndrewJohn in sending it to someone more versed in their design. I can possibly think of two more repair places that are well versed in this design. But if you want to continue the path you started maybe the following might be of interest. If you are a member of the forum that I'm listing below, there was a post on "Sunfire True Subwoofer MK IV repair". Within the post is a download in post #11 for a Cap listing. This may or may not help but it may be a start as he lists the position number on the board to help in verification of possible values. Since the listing is from the person starting the subject, I'm assuming that this is for the MKIV. Welcome to the Carver Site!! Love your list of gear and I do know that there are other Carver related items that you can add to enhance your listening pleasure. So that list can grow!! The RTR, is of interest along with the Dual TT. My new TT is based on a older Dual design. RTR's are always of interest and I wish I never got rid of mine. So it would be nice to see pictures of your gear. Enjoy the journey!! And again Welcome!!

@DTS I suggest that you go to "The Welcome Shop" and start a new Thread and repost your information in a new unique post that will identify you. That way you will be seen by more members and get the "Likes" required to advance from inbound to Novice. With 5 or more likes you then will be able to post pictures of your all your gear. @Sk1Bum -

Check out page 52. Its about a simple Hafler hookup. NOTE!!! IT DOES CAUTION ABOUT USING THE FURNISHED HOOKUP WITH A CARVER AMP. IT MAY SENSE THE CONNECTIONS AS A SHORT AND SHUTDOWN. https://www.worldradiohistory.com/Archive-All-Audio/Archive-HiFI-Stereo/80s/HiFi-Stereo-Review-1982-07.pdf The SCA-80Q that I mentioned has the controls built in to accomplish the balancing when you are using four speakers. -

Newbie looking for advice in shopping for Carver
BobTFM35 replied to genxer's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
Welcome to the Carver Site!! @Sk1Bum gave you some very very very good search locations. I particularly like the one for the preamps, and especially the US Audio Mart one for the amps. It not only has your m-200t (give a best offer) but a nice selection of 275 tube amps. Very VERY tempting for the 275 tube amps. I love mine, and had two others on loan from my son. They are great sounding amps. Ask Greg about converting the binding post on the 200t that is shown in that search. The journey starts now, and will be rewarding as it continues. Wish you the best!! -

The mention of a second set of speakers made me remember when I was running dynaco equipment. They had a unit,SCA-80Q, which "enables Dynaquad 4-dimensional playback". Along with your front speakers you wired a set of rear speakers to give you that "4-dimensional playback". -
Welcome aboard, Sir!! and Welcome to the Carver Site!! Nice TT, 6-pound glass platter, threaded record clamp, and a Goldring cartridge. No better combination to spin those classical records with. Maybe introduce a few Jazz and Blues related tunes? When I was in the service my last duty station was at Langley AFB working and flying on C-130's. Thank you for your Service!!

@DMRECONE Coupled with your finding in your above post and using a search on your image I hit on this. It might have a chance of being "the chip" and I don't know how to proceed after this. 【Naxin Electronics】Original imported R5F211B4SP C1B4 microcontroller MCU microcontroller chip power supply IC_ Huwo Tao

New to Carver looking for advice
BobTFM35 replied to Mr. Zinda's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
Welcome to the Carver Site!! If I'm not buying new I would look for models that have a good service community to take care of the age concerns. Luckily one such vendor, and a site member @Nahash5150 , has the abilities to not only service it and extend the life, but has options to increase the power for some models. His link was given above. I would take a look at the page below to help determine which amps I would be going after, and what kind of upgrades are available for it. Surely the M 1.5t with the mkII upgrade will give you possibly the kind of power what you need. In that description you see mention of the PM1200. That opens up having a place to restore the 1201 you are looking at. Nothing worse than buying an amp that nobody wants to work on. https://nelionaudio.com/index.php?/services.html/carver/carver-amplifiers/ -
