The width between the inside edges of the mounting posts must be at least 17.75 in. (45.1 cm) to comply to EIA standards. I think when you get a combination of 6 reactions of , thank you, love this or That rocks and you progress to Novice status you should be able to post pictures. I going to take a guess that your color is the darker of the two. For your C1, do you know if they are the original screws? I might be inclined to find a screw head that is flatter than the ones on the sides causing the interference. This way you will be able to move it up or down in the rack without grinding.
