  1. Welcome to the site. I'm sure as time passes a few more of Bobs creations will find a place in your collection. Give this post a looking over it might have a few items of interest. Enjoy.
  2. @Jeff F Welcome to the Carver Site. Like your collection of amps and hope the two come back strong. What kind of preamp(s) are you using?
  3. @3M_Audio My CD player is a 390t. @ChrisTFM35 purchased the BB's to replace the existing tubes. Thanks to my son for this, as it made an instant difference in the sound quality. I think you will enjoy it once you get it fixed.
  4. At this very moment I would have to say that a select few CDs played on my CD player with newly installed 6DJ8 Amperex Bugleboys, made in Holland, sounds the best. Still like spinning and enjoy listening to a good vinyl album.
  5. Measured my space that I have available. 19 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 8.5 inches high. Placed a " Coming Soon - THIS Space set aside for your listening enjoyment" sign on that space. Thanks for concept drawings and word visuals.
  6. @AndrewJohn @Ar9Jim That sounds like a good idea. What came to mind is something like "Recently Posted in - The Bob Carver Corporation Room" or maybe a separate vendor space that is always on top so that members and non members will see it when they come to the site. Only the vendor can post a new topic but others can only comment. Just a thought.
  7. @Ar9Jim For me I think you know my answer. If it's a Carver item I know that once I bring it home, it found its forever home. A few other brands automatically get placed on the top of the list if I ever go out looking for stuff. Reviews are looked at. I would have to ask if they offer an in home evaluation.
  8. @Dadvw Coming up, but only one size, Served in a large bucket!!
  9. @jvandyke_texas Hughes Manuals | HiFi Engine Two images Hughes | HiFi Engine
  10. Thanks, Jim, for this article. It will give several (9) things to ponder over for the day or longer. Number 7 struck a nerve and is one that I took a considerable amount of time and energy; almost a whole day, to see if the various ways of amping made any difference. For me I feel it made a difference. #3 is a good one. Yesterday as I was listening to a variety of CD. I clearly noticed the vast difference between recordings, so much so that I thought that either the left or right channel was having a problem. Nothing was wrong, it was just how the CD was produced I concluded. Power conditioner - I think I'm within 100 ft of the transformer, so I hope that I have a few layers of protection using the Furman units that I have. It's not uncommon for a bird or squirrel meeting its maker around that device. I really like his choice of words in some of the points.
  11. I was just over at tube depot and they were what I was looking at. I like the choices that are proposed.
  12. @Ar9Jim What tubes are being discussed for installation? I would assume if exposed tubes were the final decision they would be installed in similar fashion as done on the tube amps? User installed. With internal tubes, factory installed with a wire hold down? I know on the 490 and 390 CD player it was lets say, an exercise in patience to replace any one of the two tubes found inside.
  13. A video!! That is a definite "YES" for me. Popcorn machine on standby
  14. @ChrisTFM35 Spent the evening looking at the space available in my AV cabinet for a new piece of equipment or two. Installed the 390T on the right side of the three bay unit.
  15. John Lee Hooker. Boom Boom
  16. @Ar9Jim tubes poking out the top would be my vote as long as the mounting facilitated easy removal. Adding on that good looking cage would be sweet. Could you have push button type similar to what will be on the RPM V12? I would personally and I think @ChrisTFM35 would like to have a new modern day DTL.
