  1. Found these on CL last week... The wife and I drove down to Northern Va. this afternoon a got em... They are BAD A$$... I've been a huge Klipsch fan for over 25 years and have many Klipsch.... Love the horn loaded sound.... I've seen these JBL's for sale on the e-bay but none with-in a two hour drive. So when I found these last week I just had to check-em out... They sounded great at the guys house I got from... so we got em I am unable to play them at my house now cuz I need a active crossover..... but they look awesome.... had to move a few Klipsch out the way..... He powered them with a Big Crown Macro-Tech 2400.... the wife like it and wanted it..... who am I to tell the wife no to a Macro-Tech 2400.... so that came home with us also Let me try and load some pics on here.... give me a minute... MCP :-)
  2. Yes welcome to the carversite..... I've driven through Oklahoma Enjoy your gear.... MCP :-)
  3. /yetanotherforum/uploadfiles/20160521143142466.jpgKP-362's
  4. That's right I'm breaking out my Pro-Klipsch today. My KP-362's I'm going to put some big Carver power at em. My fresh TFM-55 will blow the dust of those woofers. Just me and the wife home today.... We had to cancel our trip to Hope Arkansas. We were going to the Klipsch pilgrimage with alot of our fourm member friends. It was this weekend so were a bit sad. So we will jam out with these KP's today.... They have been in the basement for some time.....They were just calling me today.....lol lol These are true chest pounders with a big Carver hittin em....oh yea... feel the music.... MCP :-)
  5. Welcome.... NICE system.... I like it..... MCP :-)
  6. For my 2 cents.... You say you can't "feel" the music..... well if you want to "feel" the music start looking at the Klipsch line of speakers. I would steer you to the Klipsch Chorus ii's.... or the Chorus i's.... they will fill a room with some concert level sound..... they are rated @ 101 db with just 1 watt.... they peak @ 1000 watts... I have both i's and ii's.... I drive them with Carver M400t's bridged or my TFM-55x ....I switch my gear around quite a bit... just playing with it..... hey that's what we do right... lol lol Powering those Chorus with just a few watts will get em kicking......But they can take my TFM-55x power with no problem..... I'll have those needles jumping wayyyyyyy past that 375 watt mark....... I tell ya at 300 watts those Chorus come alive......it's like a wall of sound hittin ya... and yea it clean sound.....You should be able to find some around the $500-$800 range.... sometimes less sometimes more... I paid like $27.00 for my Chorus i's.... blown woofer and banged-up cabs..... my Chorus ii's $175.... banged-up cabs and a cat got to the pass rads in the back... Now as you might well know Klipsch are horn loaded and yea they are "bright"..... some do not like it.... but will reveal sound that you might have not noted before with other speakers..... You might want to do this...... jump on the Klipsch Forum......start a thread that you want to hear some Klipsch......tell em were you are located... everyone will chime in who is close to you.....we do it all the time on the forum...... The Klipsch forum is great....Hey this Carver site is great I just happen to hang with the Klipsch guys a bit more..... Hey we all got our own sound we like...... I also like my Polk SDS 2.3's ....... they too have good sound......if I didn't like em I would get rid of them....... But they can't shake the walls like my Chorus do..... hey the Polk's tower over the Chorus but they can not put out that concert sound like the Chorus...... sorry Polk guys but it's true...... One more thing..... BarryG....... I will have you over to the house for a jam...... so you can check out my wall-O-Klipsch.... lol lol.....It seems time has gotten away...... we still got a bunch family chitt going on...... I am looking forward to having you over, I have not forgotten about you... Take care all.... Good luck finding your new speaker's MCP :-)
  7. Hey my man.....those look really nice for sure...very nice set up... MCP :-)
  8. Well it looks like I came to your thread a bit late.....sorry only been on the Carver site a few weeks now. Well I can't hold my tongue.....sorry...I just have to through this out there.. The Polks very nice speaker for sure.. I have the 2.3's and I do like em... in your 1st post you said you wanted it loud and to feel the music..well with that said IMHO nothing and I mean nothing comes close to a Klipsch Chorus speaker..the I's or II's. When those Polks reach there max db out-put the Klipsch are not even 1/2 there yet....Those Chorus are rated @ 101 db's with 1 watt and they peak @ 1000 watts... When I want to rock my house the Klipsch Chorus are powered up with a TFM-55x.. and those Klipsch will take all 380 watts that Carver throw's at em. I'll have those power needles jumping way past the 380 mark....it's nuts...I've also bridged two M400t's and that's 500 watts at em. I like the 55x the best with em...truly chest pounding bass. Alot of the guys on the Klipsch sit have the Chorus speaker and they only put a few watts at em..and yea they start to jump with about 10-20 watts...but a few of us really throw the power at em...and we talk about it....and I always talk about how a Carver will make those speakers come alive...When those power needles start jumping over 300 watts it's like the flood gates of sound just opened up ..... I have two Adcom 555II's that I bridged..that's 600 watts and they still could not put out the bass that TFM-55x had. Well I don't want to keep going on...you do have a "great" set of speakers there for sure and yes congrats...If you run across a set of Klipsch ChorusI's or II's you might want to check em out... cuz I don't think there's a such a thing as to many speakers lol.... or Carver amps lol... MCP :-)
  9. Thanks pindrop.....she really is a good wife, she loves the audio stuff. She was the one that found my 1st set of Klipsch (LaScala's) 25+ years ago in the Sunday paper. When I got my 1st Carver TFM55x and powered up some of my Klipsch she said "Ahhhhh you need to off those Adcom's and get some more Carver's"..... Yea she is something MCP :-)
  10. Good score for sure... I snagged a set of SDA 2.3tl's a 8/9 years ago...me and the wife were on our way to work and stopped a the local 7-11 for our morning coffee. I saw the "fresh" local trading paper that I always pick up...on the way to the shop I was thumbing through it (wife was driving) came across the ad Polk SDA 2.3's $300 and Adcom 555II for $250....I was like OH chitt...told the wife when we get to the shop I'm calling this guy to get this stuff....She said "we don't need any more damn speakers and amps"....My reply is always...you don't understand.... We get to shop, I call the guy. The amp is sold but he still has the Polks... I told him I'm closing my shop I'll be at his house in about 1 hour. Wife was not happy....all the way to his house she was bitching. But I knew when we get there she will understand. We get to my mans house. He opens the door, we go in. He says the speakers are up stairs in my audio room. When we walked into the room, my wife took one look at them. "Oh my" came out of her mouth. A quick audition and the deal was sealed... I knew she would understand... MCP :-)
  11. I'll let ya know when I get one.....Oh, I'll have one one day.... and when I do it will take a turn power each set of my Klipsch speakers....it'll be great......soon.....very soon... MCP :-)
  12. For me Klipsch is my speaker of choice....The one that comes to mind is the Chorus and Chorus II's..yea they are horn loaded and they do have some highs but they are clean and crisp. If you like it loud you really need to look at them. They are rated @ 101db's at 1 watt and they can handle all kinds of power they peak at 1000 watts. If your bridging two M1.5t's then you have lots of power. The sound I like the best out of my Chorus II's are powering them with my TFM-55x, I've also powered them with two 400t's and two Adcom 555 II's bridged... But the TFM-55x really gets those 15'" woofers woofing... The bass is nothing short of chest pounding. Also it's a speaker you can buy that's not alot of money....$400-$800 range sometimes less sometimes more if they have been upgraded.. One last thought the Klipsch Forte II just a tad smaller that the Chorus line....buy it also hits hard... Well that's my two cents at ya...... good luck MCP :-)
  13. Yes fun topic for sure...everyone has there speakers they love.....I have had quite a few in my day....and heard many....But my number one speaker of choice is the Klipsch.....I have many sets of Klipsch from LaScala's to Heresy's to some pro stuff....The one speaker that is called upon the most at my house is the Klipsch Chorus II....that speaker will rock the foundation of my house, just a few watts will get those things jumping.....but when I let the TFM-55x start to give them a work out...man those speakers will rock.....and when I say give them a work out I'll put all 380 watts at em.....those power needles won't drop much below that 380 mark, and those Chorus II's will take it with no problem. They peak at 1000 watts... Now I don't listen to music like that all the time, but when I want to feel the music the Chorus II's are for me..."My chest pounder" Just a quick side note...two Adcom 555II's bridged can not match the bass out put of my Carver TFM-55x when powering the Chorus II's MCP :-)
  14. Thanks for the info.... Yea...Bob Great guy, he's on the Klipsch forum does some really good work. There is also Dean G that does alot of custom stuff with klipsch. Dean G's crossover's are some works of art....not saying there any better that Mr.Crites, cuz Bob makes some nice stuff..... I'm thinking about the upgrade on the LaScala's first they are my oldest speaker I have... So what is your Carver / Klipsch combo?? MCP :-)
  15. I don't have any RF-7's "yet"....but it is on the to get list... Also the M500t has not made it in the house "yet"...I like the looks of that amp and all the mods that can be done to it....Been thinking about getting one to pair up with my Klipsch LaScala's....right now the LaScala's are powered by one of my Adcom 555 II amps....good sound but just wanting to try something else....like that M500t...oh yea But what I really need to do is stop buying new/old gear....but up-grade some of the stuff I have...like the crossovers in all my speakers and I have one non-working TFM-55.....yea that's what I should do.. MCP :-)
  16. Yes I have some problems.....I joind the Klipsch forum not quite a year ago(great guys there also).... On the Klipsch forum I'm known as......yea you guessed it........MKP :-) Yea I got issues lol lol MCP :-)
  17. Hey all, just wanted to say hey... I've been a long time Carver fan.... 90% of all my speakers a driven with Caver power . I've been into audio for over 25 years and love playing with my gear. I remember the 1st time I herd /saw a Caver amp....a friend of mine got a new stereo, walked in his house a saw four Klipsch Chorus speakers and theses two little silver cubes he was using to power them....I was thinking those little things are going to power those big speaker....hmmm....So he told me all about the speakers and amps....He powers them up with good tunes and puts all of the 201 watts into those four Klipsch......OH MY GOD The sound blew me away....I never herd a system like that. I not only herd the music but I felt it....That sound has always stuck with me. I knew one day I would own Klipsch speakers and Carver amps....at the time I just didn't know how many lol lol.... Music is a big part of me and my wife's life...we love play our tunes....at the house I have my wall-O-Klipsch speakers driven with all my Carver amps....from 400t's to TFM-55x's...I will have Silver Seven's one day... At my auto shop where I work with my wife, we have a TFM-42 driving a set of Klipsch KP362's (Klipsch Pro speakers) that set-up rocks the house(shop)...next to my shop there is a used car lot...in the summer the guys will be out front washing cars and they will say "hey turn turn up the tunes"...so I'll get those lights on the Carver jumping up to that 375 watt mark....oh yea..we be jamming.... OK guys...again just wanted to say hey..take care all MCP
