I have a recently upgraded Carver C-1 preamp with all the BillD upgrades plus a few extras.  It's in good cosmetic shape and performs great on the bench and in my test system.
  
The basic C-1 features separate left/right tone controls, phono inputs (moving magnet and moving coil) and of course sonic holography imaging.  The BillD upgrade replaces roughly 180 parts.  All electrolytic caps are replaced.  Op amps in the line and phono stage are replaced with OPA2134 devices.  All ceramic caps are replaced with upgraded components.  All resistors (outside of the power supply and SH) circuits are replaced with 1% metal film resistors to lower the noise floor.  I've also added a removable power cord and moved the internal fuse to the rear panel.  And of course, a subtle blue LED to mark this C-1 as special.
