danowood 2,167 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 How does one edit a pic so that they can draw on it before submission. I see where some draw red lines or circles around schematics or pictures of circuit boards.
Nahash5150 10,681 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 @danowood We don't have picture editing to that point on the posting editor. I can look into a plugin for it though. On the other hand, I use the Windows Snippet Tool to write in little lines and stuff. It's easy to use because after you take a snippet and edit it, all you have to do is hit 'CTR + V' in the posting window and the site will automatically upload it for you. I'm going to move this in the Site Support section. Thanks Dano. 1
RodH 4,866 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Download GIMP2. It's free and has much of the editing capabilities of Photoshop. clean GIMP2 download 2
dennismiller55 4,809 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I use Paint.net. Another free Photoshop alternative. You can draw lines with arrowheads. Easy to add text. 1

compwaco 1,129 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I use LunaPic at https://www199.lunapic.com/editor/ It is free and does a whole lot of stuff. 2
Nahash5150 10,681 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I'm not a fan of the plug-ins I've found. They are way too much for what we need - so I'll wait for something that is simpler to come along before modifying the site. Thank you for all the suggestions! I really like that LunaPic - I'm going to make a custom block for it and add it to the main page. 1
Nahash5150 10,681 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Okay, I've added a LunaPic link to the 'Insert Other Media' options: No need to remember the link or bookmark it, just get to the site direct from here. 2
loner_t 2,568 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 On a Mac, if you use Applications -> Preview -> Tools -> Annotate, you can add text, speech bubbles, arrows, rectangles, etc., on any document that Preview supports. This includes PNG, TIFF, JPG (and it's variants), PDF.

Is there a walk through how to use for dumb azz's? LOL
Nahash5150 10,681 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Go to the HELP menu on the LunaPic Site and it has some tutorials.
Nahash5150 10,681 Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 If you use LunaPic, you would be downloading your edited image back your PC, and then upload it here - so no hotlinking.
