bobpep 11 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Hi, Having recently joined this amazing Carver site and after familiarizing myself with its content, I would like to thank all who have worked so hard in developing and maintaining it. It's really a great reference site for all things Carver! I just purchased a M500 amp ( my first anything Carver ) and have started to work on bringing it back to life, and look forward to everyone's help in doing so. Completed a four year course in "Technical Electronics" in high school followed by a degree in Electrical Engineering. Retired after 40+ years in the Power Industry and, I'm loving every minute of my retirement. Love listening to all sorts of music, and have been fortunate enough to attend many live shows. But like most everyone else on this website, I love working on all sorts of audio gear. Best Regards, Bob 7
Sk1Bum 11,435 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Hello bobpep, and welcome to thecarversite.com. We're glad you're hear. There is a lot of information here, much technical know how, and a pretty good bunch of folks that are happy to help. With your electronics background, I'm sure you'll fit right in. Once you get to Novice status, please consider uploading some pics of your gear in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of all kinds of audio gear. In the meantime, kick your shoes off, turn up the music, and welcome aboard.
ZappaPatton 706 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Welcome bobpep, Helluva amp you got there, glad you are going refresh it and keep another Carver going for decades to come.

Community Admin AndrewJohn 10,476 Posted June 26, 2022 Community Admin Posted June 26, 2022 Welcome @bobpep. Glad you found us. With that pedigree, please take time to start a thread and document your restoration of your M500. it's always good to have a new restore thread, that people can learn from - and share bits of history and wisdom on your journey. Again, welcome ! That's a great amp to have and you'll love it!
oldtexasdog 2,456 Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Welcome bobpep, I think you will find a lot of like minded folks here to interact with.
BluesMan57 1,411 Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Welcome to the forum Sir. Good luck with your restoration project. If you have any questions this is the best place to be…..
2chGearBuff 428 Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Welcome aboard. Always find the rebuild threads to be some of the most interesting. Gives me a sanity check sometimes when I am working on something and I get stuck. I get to see that I am not the only one that has this happen! And that includes a lot of great members that have way more knowledge than I do! I love to see them apply their knowledge, share with others, and accept advise from anyone that feels like they can help! Great group you have latched onto! Enjoy.
Brian_at_HHH 2,691 Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Welcome to the group, and congrats on your retirement! I will admit I'm jealous of that (about 4-5 years, yet for me ... maybe ...). Glad you decided to join in the fun! I hope you have a great time working on that M500 and enjoying listening to it when you've got it purring away nicely!
