Guest RodH Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I have a habit of buying up LP 'lots' - 200 for $25 that sort of thing. Usually I find a couple keepers that make the purchase worthwhile. Sometime I find some really odd stuff: This one came from the widow of a German immigrant along with 5 Partridge Family LPs:
Guest RodH Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Trying to sell "Hitler's Inferno" on fleaBay was an experience....! I might get a chance to photograph a few more of the gems later tonight. Anybody else got some freaks of vinyl?
kve777 6,884 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I have "Saturday Night Fever", " Thriller", "Rumors" and "Dark Side of the Moon" How rare are they?
mbskeam 1,975 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Trying to sell "Hitler's Inferno" on fleaBay was an experience....! do tell .......
RichP714 3,163 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I used to own this one on Vinyl; haven't been able to find it on CD: http://www.amazon.com/Hole-Scraping-Foetus-Off-Wheel/dp/B000NO1T26/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1280617503&sr=1-3
Guest RodH Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Trying to sell "Hitler's Inferno" on fleaBay was an experience....! do tell ....... It seems they have a very strict policy about anything relating to that particular fellow and anything he was involved in.. Getting banned was the minor part. The death-threat e-mails were.......interesting. My personal feeling is ignoring and/or hiding the lessons of history is true folly. But what do I know!
RichP714 3,163 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 .....My personal feeling is ignoring and/or hiding the lessons of history is true folly. But what do I know! Well, he WAS Time Mag's 1938 Man of the year.........
Harryfan 20 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 My collection is pretty mainstream, except my pursuit of Harry covers has led me to some unusual records. This is one of my favorites - Delightfully awful record! This one is not so uncommon, really. I saw a few copies while shopping this week. But it’s a bizarre record. This one is kind of cool when you're in the right mood.
SteveFord 1,119 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I'm afraid I don't own Hitler's Greatest Hits but I am pleased to say that I do have this one!
zumbini 6,147 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I have a thing for oddball album covers. This one turned out to be well worth listening to: This one was not:
zumbini 6,147 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Here are a few more favorites in no particular order:
jldeni 439 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Some of my favorites... and...I love the 3D foldout wings on this one
Guest RodH Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Another Gem, although the guitar (synth axe) work is very interesting.
weitrhino 1,443 Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Trying to sell "Hitler's Inferno" on fleaBay was an experience....! What do you want for it?
Guest RodH Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Now this is just plain sick. I bought a group of jazz LP's, they arrived today, and what do I find on top? Jeeez!
BillD 239 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I think the words after I still love you say it all. "I don't know why"
Audioquest 8 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 As simple as it (and maybe me too! ) is, I always liked this one
madmike46 398 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 You are correct, Bill Beat me to Rod .
SteveFord 1,119 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Most of Zappa's covers were pretty good. Here's one from The Who (good album if you don't have it already):
SteveFord 1,119 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Leon Russell being cooked by cannibals isn't bad, either. The album itself kind of grows on you but it was savaged by the critics when it came out. I just checked out Leon's site and he's got an album with Sir Elton John coming out next month (Oct 2010).
