Visitor is worth tracking down — one album out means the songwriting is still pretty concentrated, which I like. I'm curious whether the live versions open up more than the record does, since a voice that strong can get boxed in by studio arrangements. Does she tour much, or is it mostly local shows for now? Either way, good tip on the album.

Bowie's "John, I'm Only Dancing" is the one I'd queue up again from that list — that choppy guitar riff gets stuck in my head for days. Barry McGuire's "Eve of Destruction" feels like a different mood entirely, more sit-and-think than dance. Funny how 1965 kept producing both in the same year. Anyone else notice the singles from that era were often under three minutes but still felt complete? I keep wondering whether shorter attention spans shaped the songwriting or the other way around.

I think so too. She has one album out, Visitor. I'll get it soon.

Did you listen/watch the video? Spiro's voice is a classic after hours jazz club or lounge voice. I really enjoyed that show. I record ACL, but most of the time, it gets stopped, deleted at 10 minutes in or less.

I saw the title of this thread and thought it was a sit-com…🤣

While doing my cardio today, I found another gem from Austin City Limits, Sienna Spiro. With hair from the 60s, a dress from the 70s, and a voice for the ages, I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.
