Got all finished up. With new Electrolytic capacitors, the thump is nearly non-existent! It is there ever so slightly on Power off, moreover, when I power it on, There is a loud "Buzz" Type "Inrush" Sound in the RIGHT speaker Only. It happens quickly and then goes quiet, Powering down there is nearly nothing. Interesting enough, when I tried to apply the "No Thump modification" (Or whatever it is that you're all calling it) It was near silent when powering on and off, however, when the circuit modification was in place, there a lot of white noise (High noise floor) on the RIGHT channel. I moved the "Mod" components from right to left channel and the problem stays in the right channel. Which tells me that there must be something else wrong in that channel. I am guessing that it is related to the "Surge" sound when powering up in the right channel. It has done that since I have gotten it. Any Ideas. I tried searching but have not found much. Still having issues with my infrasonic filter I have cleaned all switches with deoxit and replaced all 26 of the electrolytic capacitors. The problem is only on the left side sounds like a popping noise. when looking at the schematic I see IC #7 op amp 4136 . should I replace it? Mouser has a RC 4136 N will that work or is there a better one. will I need to use a adapter?

Well, better late than never> I am a new member to the site, having just joined within the last two weeks. My name is Joe and I have been a ardent Carver fan for, well, as long as Bob Carver has been designing. I always liked his work with Phase Linear and sold his equipment in a past life as an audio salesperson. I currently have both a Carver tl3200 CD player and a Carver c-3 Preamp connected to my system (although I swamp the Carver with a Bryston MC-1 preamp). Once I accumulate the required number of points, i can post my system for the group.

Prior to the last hangover that I had, it was also a couple of decades between the last one to the previous one. I think (hope) I'm good for this lifetime. Feel free to do the research and report back.
