  1. Just a brief note of introduction. Been something of an audiophile beginning in the 70’s. I have had a bucket list item I have finally completed: I finally bought a Carver power amp! First of 2 or 3, possibly. This one is a Carver M-400t Cube. I will be matching it up with my Frankenstein speakers… which is to say I have Klipsch horns, the woofers to go with them, and plans for an open baffle hybrid speaker. The horns will be “unboxed” and in the open (they sound fantastic unleashed!!) while the bass woofer (and possibly a sub-woofer also) will be in a 6 cubic ft sealed box. The plans for the box are still unfinished, as I plan on boosting the base over that which Klipsch settled for. As part of my solution will be 2 passive radiators in the box. Potentially 12” woofers (from Heresy 2) a pair of subwoofers and passive radiators. Likely all 4 vertical sides occupied with bass production lol Having a Carver unit is participating in my own history, sort of lol I am hugely excited by it all.

  2. Hi all, New to site, was actually in search of an owners manual or service manual for Carver car audio xeq-15 Pro Graphic Equalizer "The Board". One of the 2 has static and popping coming from it when eq is engaged, can't hear music at all. But when bypassed plays music fine. Was checking to see if anyone has a owners or service manual they wouldn't mind sharing. Thanks, Jt

  3. Just picked up my first Carver it is a 6250. I love restoring older vacuum tube radios and some "newer" 1970s and 80's electronics. Found it at one of my local thrift stores i get my old radios from and decided for $15 that I couldn't go wrong. I put it on my test bench and now shorts or smoked components. powers on. So I am here looking for the common failure points for this unit. I have found and downloaded the service manual already. can't wait until I can get it running as a daily driver.

  5. Welcome to the Carver Site! Carver 6250 Receiver is nice. In fact, I think most of the Carver Receivers are very underrated. I've had a couple myself and liked them.. one is now in my daughter's apartment as her main stereo. Unfortunately, I'm not a guru on them technically.... but, I'll bet someone here on the site can help.

  6. Joe Syrian Motor City Jazz Octet, A Blue Time was released on April 24, 2026. "On A Blue Time, the stellar, sophisticated, wildly adventurous sophomore album by the Joe Syrian Motor City Jazz Octet, the veteran visionary drummer and bandleader continues his ongoing dialogue between jazz tradition and imaginative reinvention, guiding his nimble, well-heeled powerhouse ensemble through a spirited, stylistically fluid set that balances vintage swing, Afro-Latin grooves, cool-toned introspection and playful experimentation. 11. Excellent! We love project threads. There's a forum for Speakers where you can start a new thread and brag on your project ..., and people will comment, answer questions, or otherwise keep you motivated! 😉

  12. I haven’t built them yet, the hybrid open baffles. I have only assembled some parts to get an idea of the sound I can expect. The mock ups sounded amazing. I will certainly post pics of the finished product. I will likely also post some progress pics.
