Hi all! I’ve been researching speakers for listening to jazz, quartets, acoustic instruments. Based on my listening preferences I’ve settled on the classic 3 way- I’m also a cabinet maker and have built speaker enclosures for others- but never for myself. I think I’ve settled on the SEAS 403 Revisited. A friend of mine who owns a number of Carver amplifiers offered up her TFM-6CB in support my endeavor. I was directed to this site on another forum as a source for manuals- voilá! Here I am.

Hello, I frequented these parts years ago when I was sssembling my second Carver/sunfire system. At that time we were building an audio system for our boat. Many years have passed and I am finding myself back in the Carver obsessive compulsive behavior zone. I am currently beginning to purchase the equipment for our future audio video room that will be located in a remodel that we have not even done yet. Have an ancient Leach amp, that seem to work, a rare partially functional Mitsubishi pre amp tuner, Denon direct drive table, various stylus'. Updated with new Klipsch speakers. I currently use a CT3 into a TFM15CB through KEF 104/2. All refurbished. A lot of Ry Cooder, Jerry Garcia, bluegrass. Some jazz and rock&roll. We live in Grand Junction, CO and are retired.

Today at the gym while doing my cardio, I watched the Austin City Limits Celebrates Antone's & The Blues. ACL salutes the 50th Anniversary of iconic Austin blues club Antone’s and the series' own history of showcasing blues in a supercharged hour featuring an all-star line-up with Jimmie Vaughan, Kingfish, Bobby Rush, Sue Foley and Big Bill Morganfield. https://www.pbs.org/video/austin-city-limits-celebrates-antones-the-blues-azh17l/ I have my DVR record every episode of ACL, and the vast majority of them get 5 minutes and deleted. Occasionally, they have a gem. The ones that I've watched the last couple of days have been gems.

Welcome! Regarding speakers, the possibilities are pretty much unlimited except by your budget and space. Try a couple of searches here and you should get some nice ideas. To give you my $.02 for bookshelf speakers, I'm very much enjoying some KEF iQ10 speakers that I have at my bench. You'll sometimes see these pop up on eBay for around $200 pair which I think is a steal. The imaging is terrific and the output is buttery smooth. Available in both black and a nice wood finish.

After replacing the power supply capacitors which were an interesting dual cap model with 4 Nichicons from Mouser of the same values and best esr profile I could get, the amplifier came back to life. I made a PC perf proto-board replacement to hold the 4 capacitors modeled after the one sold on Ebay, soldered some stiff wires into the perf board, and fitted it in to replace the old capacitors. I will still need to give it stress test, but all appears to be good now. The hardest part was getting the old caps out, which I did by a combination of cutting the legs with a dremeal tool and removing the remaining soldered stubs and cleaned the wholes needed for the replacement board.

I have my DVR set to record the series. That said, most shows get about 5 minutes and then deleted. Occasionally, there is a gem. I've discovered a few new to me artists there, The War & The Treaty, Alabama Shakes are a couple off the top of my head.

Thanks for sharing! Austin City Limits is a wonderful show for artists to showcase their talents in a little more reserved setting. Have always enjoyed the show! Chris is a great writer and musician. Not the biggest fan but a casual listener for sure of his music.

I have a pristine c16 and an upgraded tfm 15cb a rega Jupiter cd transport a pioneer sg9500 eq and am currently looking for a music hall 25.3 DAC all my cables are moon audio or gr research and I have upgraded gr research davantii bookshelves and a svs pb1000 sub but I have many carver pieces and am on the Hunt for the elusive c19 pre amp. my passion is jamming tunes and have an insane listening chamber and I also do crazy woodworking and make carver signs and all sorts of goodies. I am excited to network with all of you to hopefully attain many more carver pieces as I would like to collect one of every piece bob ever made
