  6. Good choice. I can't speak about the MacOS app, but the latest update for the Windows app is a huge upgrade, well, it's beta now anyway. The previous version maxed out my RAM (32g), and took about 10 minutes to load. The version just barely blips the RAM usage and loads immediately. The only things that I think they need to work on now is making it pretty.
  7. Paolo Fresu, Kind of Miles was released on April 11, 2025. "kind of MILES is an entirely different take on the lessons of Davis. This is a studio-recorded companion album to a multi-media theatrical concert Fresu toured with in 2024. It wove together images, narration, and sounds from the life of Davis and Fresu himself, accompanied by two live bands on each side of the stage: one acoustic, and one electric. Fresu stayed in the middle, moving between the two. The album takes an impressionistic view of Davis’ music. Just as an abstract painting may contain recognizable images that float in and out, kind of MILES is mostly original compositions from band members creating impressions of Davis’ style with occasional standards from Davis’ repertoire. Fresu remains himself throughout, contributing new music rather than reproducing, and by doing so he best honors Davis’ influence." You can read the rest of the review here...

  9. Dave Koz, Off The Beaten Path (album)
  10. Good Lord, I guess I can't read anymore. Somehow, I thought Charlie posted Theme from Mannix, and I didn't notice it was Hawaii Five-0 theme. The Five O theme is a Morton Stevens tune as Charlie stated. What a dumbass, and I'm not talking about anyone other than myself. Mea culpa.
  11. Sticking with what appears to be today's theme, Lalo Schifrin, theme from Mannix is up next.
  12. Lalo Schifrin, Bullitt soundtrack
  13. David Sanborn, Straight to the Heart (album)
  14. Lalo Schifrin wrote that and the theme for Mission Impossible, both great tunes! edit: Wow, he did a lot more than I gave him credit for. From wikipedia: Schifrin's best known compositions include the themes from Mission: Impossible (1966) and Mannix (1967), as well as the scores to Cool Hand Luke (1967), Bullitt (1968), THX 1138 (1971), Enter the Dragon (1973), The Four Musketeers (1974), Voyage of the Damned (1976), The Eagle Has Landed (1976), The Amityville Horror (1979) and the Rush Hour trilogy (1998–2007). Schifrin was also noted for collaborations with Clint Eastwood from the late 1960s to the 1980s, particularly the Dirty Harry film series. He composed the Paramount Pictures fanfare used from 1976 to 2004. Schifrin was a five-time Grammy Award winner; he was nominated for six Academy Awards and four Emmy Awards. In 2019, he received an Honorary Academy Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in recognition of his successful career.

  22. Hello HoraceAnkle and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us! You're doing just fine, and here's where you will find threads on the MXR-130 and other Carver receivers: https://thecarversite.com/forum/82-receivers/ There are six pages of topics, and there are 3 related to the MXR-130 on the first page. One of the threads was started by @Nahash5150, the owner of Nelion Audio, and the Technical Admin here. I hope that helps.

  25. Hello Reel Bond and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us. As Charlie pointed out, the TFM75 amps are rare and expensive. Personally, I'd say no thanks unless the cash boot was enough to replace the TFM 75. I did a search of the various auctions and audio listings, and there aren't any TFM 75s listed that I could find. The last few listings I've seen have been in $2K range, but I don't know if they sold or not. Occasionally you will see a listing for $1500. From what I've read here, the PT2400 is the professional version of the TFM 75. Both amps are discussed here is several threads, and maybe some of the folks with first hand experience will chime in. I hope that helps.
