  1. I have mine set to auto empty every thirty days.
  2. If these were on your NAS, you might be able to recover them if the deletion was recent. My Synology NAS has a recycle bin that's saved me tracking down replacements a couple of times. Sorry, I don't have any Syd Barrett recordings.
  3. For quite some time, I used my oppo bluray players to stream from an external USB drive attached to my router. Then I moved to a NAS, and the WiiM Ultra. Streaming to the oppo sounds great, but the interface is clunky and slow... Like @jeffssaid, the WiiM changed the game for me. The WiiM sounds great, and the interface is much more advanced, not to mention much faster than the oppo. I now have 3 WiiM Ultras. You can sync them together and control them from a phone/tablet app or a Windows or Mac app on a computer. I can't speak for the Mac, but the Windows app is still beta (to be generous). It needs a lot of work. Other than that, I am very happy with the WiiM, and I've only played a few records since I bought the first one. I've only played a couple of CDs too. I like that I can configure playlists, or just add albums to the cue, and have the music sync'd through the whole house with 3 systems. My average price on the WiiM Ultra's is about $270 plus tax.
  4. The Kanneh-Masons, River of Music was released on September 12, 2025. "t’s been five years since the entire Kanneh-Mason family recorded together – Carnival of the Animals (12/20). This new album, ‘River of Music’, with its various opportunities for solo display as well as collaboration, shows how much these musicians have grown in the interim. There are three selections where all seven siblings have a part: a touching, atmospheric arrangement of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s version of ‘Deep River’; a quietly uplifting version of the Welsh hymn Ar Lan y Môr; and Hiraeth, an original work of tender nobility by Isata, the eldest Kanneh-Mason."
  5. Kenny Barron, Songbook was released on November 14, 2025. "When Kenny Barron turns 82, it is with the grace of a musician whose years of listening, playing and imagining have subtly transformed into a kind of quiet mastery. He is no longer simply a pianist who makes notes, but a composer of spaces, a curator of moods, a storyteller who uses the keys as much as brushes. In his latest venture, Songbook, he chooses not the bombastic flourish of youth, but the thoughtful cadence of voice and trio piano, inviting us into a room where sound is as much a conversation as a performance." 6. The David Murray Quartet, Francesca (album)
  7. Oops, that's the leadoff song. Here's another
  8. Ramsey Lewis & Urban Knights, VII (album)
  9. Kim Scott, Livin' It Up was released on February 28, 2025. :Kim’s sixth album, “Livin’ It Up,” released just a few weeks ago. The title is a direct reflection of her spirit of joy, and the set of songs reflects her diversity of musical style. From the exotic Spanish “Alma de Lisbon” to the funky Miles Davis/Herb Alpert mashup “So What if I Rise?” to the African beats of the inspiring women’s anthem “You Got the Power,” Kim Scott’s personality shines through." 10. Euge Groove, Livin' Large (album)
  11. Ramsey Lewis, Tequila Mockingbird (album)
  12. My daily dose: The Rippingtons, Moonlighting (album)
  13. I would probably use, as I now use: dir z:\Music /S /O:N > z:\Music\MusicList.txt Then the tedious task of editing the txt file. I've not used a Linux box since I added a NAS to my LAN, so I've not attempted to export my music library to a sql, mysql or the like. I did attempt it with Access, and gave up fairly quickly.
  14. Getting the blood flowing with Kona coffee and Molly Hatchet, Beatin' The Odds (album)
  15. Site software will automagically embed most youtube links. Click on the share button for the youtube video. You'll get a popup box, and click on Copy in that box, and then paste the link into the post editor. The link you posted is: https://youtu.be/0MXHYm6Wo54 (I had to tell the post editor to post the link and not the video. This is posting the link and letting it auto embed: Some videos do not allow auto embedding, and the only option you'll have is to just post the link. Our site software will let you know when it can't embed the video. I hope that helps.
  16. Jarez, The Groove That Saved Christmas
  17. The Rippingtons, Fountain Of Youth (album)
  18. Foundation, I've been binge watching the 3 seasons. Foundation is based on the Isaac Asimov series of books. There are seven, and I've read them all except Prelude and Forward. They are Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation, Foundation's Edge, Foundation and Earth, Prelude to Foundation, Forward the Foundation. I should go back and read them again, as it's been 30 years. Man has colonized the whole galaxy, and Hari Seldon invents psychohistory, a type of mathematics that can predict the future of very large groups of people. The math predicts a coming dark age where the empire crumbles, and the dark age lasts 1000 years. Psychohistory also shows how to shorten the dark age to 300-500 years. It's been so long since I've read the books, that I can't comment on how well the series follows the books. Season 4 has been greenlit, and it will start shooting next year.
  19. FFDP, And Justice for None (album) Kona coffee and FFDP is a great way to get fired up in the morning.
