  1. If you think you might want to "upgrade" or add to your system while hanging out here, I have a suggestion for you - take out your wallet. Look it over very carefully. Admire how well it conforms to your pocket after having had it for so long. Now look at it very seriously and say "Good bye"... These folks will cost you some $$$. Years ago, I started with a CT-Seven & M.10t. Then some other Bob Carver gear. Still have them, the CT-Seven & M.10t, ...& a wee bit more, a wee bit less (items let go of. It happens. Later we wish to reclaim the long gone). We say, "Welcome" & open wide the doors to OOCD. Enjoy your passion!
  2. Below, this is what turned me on to Ravel. Applause to all performers across the globe!
  3. Good fortune! wishing you a road trip with miles of smiles! ?
  4. Reminding myself to play my sweetheart's favorite songs. Need to do this more often...
  5. "He remains a man with a profound sense of the groove and, especially as a singer, a minimalist. But as he says, "Shuffle or die."
  6. "Nice! I like their shape, too." These are shapely, solid little ingots. "Do you like Mirages in general as well? I found an MC 2 center channel and M 490 speakers that are in our price range. " Beyond the Nanosats & some unknown Mirage bookshelf speakers at a audio dealer's listening room ('twas years ago) I am not familiar with the rest of the line. I do recall being impressed by a pair up on a shelf along one wall of the listening space plus a Mirage SW ( this was not one of the hi-end-hi-$$ listening rooms with comfy furniture.) The Mirage were the smallest things on the shelf ; however, the sound field impressed me, a bit of a cognitive disconnect. I would look at the models with the upward dispersing Omnipolar driver; I see their floor standing models feature this. They are slim-line, too, a plus. Good luck!
  7. Consider Mirage bookshelf series; I had a Nanosat 5.1 system but they did sound good as 2.1. The fronts were easy to place on a mantleshelf, the rears on anything (desk top, plant stand, speaker stand.) When they went up for sale on CL they went pronto.
  8. It's been a while:
  9. Keep your wig hat on, found a listing on Amazon: Audio CD, 1 Used from $772.56; 1 New from $924.29.
