  1. Welcome aboard, Chris. Electronics & repair are not my strong suit so I am appreciative of members who are generous in their assistance. ps: We love pics of work benches, too.
  2. This is a three CD collection, today is disc two. Disc one, The Colours of Chloe, lives up to its profile: " "Eberhard Weber's first record remains his most well-known and influential. An ambitious work of what might be called symphonic jazz, The Colours of Chloë helped to define the ECM sound -- picturesque, romantic, at times rhythmically involved, at others minimalistic and harmonically abstruse... " The cats & I settled into the afternoon sun filtering through the windows (always a favorable sign) to be absorbed by the music. Today's disc, Yellow Fields, is livelier, reminiscent of early Weather Report & Oregon, and foreshadowing of European classic/jazz. such as E.S.T or Nik Bartsch's Ronin.
  3. Glad you have improved your lot, that can be tough, good for you! Press on... & press PLAY!
  4. It sounds better on your system, Phil.
  5. Chris Botti: I often come to this anticipatingt the arrival of my sweetheart. Live, it is WHOA!: Chris Botti. In Boston
  6. The SS-TL5 & ES SS M7 designs, although different, locate the mids & tweeters pretty much at the same height. The latter's shape piques my interest, thinking outside of the box. Good you are able to keep the collection fresh.
  7. More nostalgia. Collecting LPs once owned but given away. Avalon has been a ghost in my inner soundscape for quite a time. Didn't sound this good back then but no arguing with the ghost of the past.
  8. Clarence Carter, Patches. Picked up over the weekend from the For Free box at a vinyl shop. "Carter's biggest hit came in 1970 with his version of "Patches", first recorded by Chairmen of the Board, which was a UK number 2 hit and a US number 4. The record sold over one million copies, and received a gold disc awarded by the R.I.A.A. in September 1970, just two months after its release and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Song in 1971."
  9. Sunday, after browsing the audio store, we picked these from the Free Box at Mobius Records. Mobius Records:
  10. Just collected for one dollar from the local record exchange: Traffic, John Barleycorn Must Die. Brings back memories...
  11. Adrian Belew, Op Zop Too Wah. One of our cats is names after this song/album.
  12. When Porcupine Tree has played through, over to the the Crim. "The classic album has been mixed for 5.1 Surround Sound from the original studio masters by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) & is fully approved by Crimson founder Robert Fripp. CD features a new stereo mix by Robert Fripp & Steven Wilson, 3 extra tracks, 2 previously unreleased, including a new mix of Groon, alternate mix of Peace: An End, & the 1st time availability on CD of the studio recording of Cadence & Cascade with Greg Lake's guide vocal. DVD-A features a 5.1 DTS Mix and High Resolution Stereo mixes, 5.1 lossless audio mix and Lossless Stereo mixes, the original & new album mix & more." Playing the new stereo mix.
  13. When Pink Floyd or King Crimson will not do, Porcupine Tree.
  14. Those voices whilst cooking dinner...
  15. For one dollar this LP is in good condition. Music of the Renaissance is the feature with JA on guitar, lute & some electric guitar. Tim Bogart & Carmine Appice are also on hand for some tracks but the music does not veer into the bombastic. It is not Focus-like. Turns out he was thinking of the music of John Dowland before Sting's recording the acclaimed Elizabethan songwriter on Songs From The Labyrinth.
  16. Boz Scaggs, Down Two Then Left (vinyl from The Record Exchange here in-town)
  17. This comes with the Truth LP as a double LP set. Zambian & I could find no issue date on the bifold jacket.
