I read the same Bob Carver advice, went looking for the stuff but never felt comfortable going through with it. Looks like boots could outlast surrounds.

Got started on Jan Garbarek back in the day of reading CD Review magazine. Being not likely that I will attend concerts of the Norwegian saxophonist/composer, his first live album was an immediate grab. Excellent sound & spirited performance of pieces from his catalogue.

A peaceful jazz trio tone poem. No video, just a single photo hence not posted over at What Are You Watching. Kingman, the AC/DC release was reviewed in The Washington Post this week.

Long ago saw Scott Henderson & Tribal Tech at Blues Alley in Georgetown. The performance was sparsely attended in this intimate club & first show attendees were welcome to stay for the second show just for the price of a drink. I stayed & scribbled an enthusiastic 'wish you were here, dear" note on a napkin to my wife, who was out of town. Jeez, wish he (they) would come back, she would dig it!

" you all gave a brief narrative of what you listen for in these tracks, and I think that information has a lot of value." After reading the submitted "narratives" I sheepishly feel like I could have done a better job on mine. The keen descriptions offered will improve my listening appreciation (and, hopefully, my future posts.)

We are fans of Bill Frisell and his recordings with Viktor Krauss onboard are among our favorites. Viktor's recordings remind of Frisell's Americana aesthetic. Failed to realize the Allison connection. Hope you enjoy VK.
