  1. New release from Steve Wilson (Porcupine Tree), Hand. Cannot. Erase. Aristocrats & Guthrie Govan fans will enjoy his playing here, also.
  2. My wife's ears perked up to this playing in the Barnes & Noble music department today, enough to ask, "What's playing?" A new addition to the music library now playing at home–"Great speakers!" she smiles, nodding in time. I silently vow to play more music for her (she puts up with my selections, sometimes shrugging & painfully smiling as I dial the volume knob counterclockwise.)
  3. Jeff Beck, There & Back.
  4. Showmodel, I've had Silver ALS & 1.2TLs at the same time, alternating between them as whim dictates. The room sizes have been small compared to your space, about 180 sq. ft and 325 sq.ft. They were powered with a non-inverting M1.0t or two M1.0ts switched to mono hookup. The latter set-up afforded no apparent benefit or detriment in sound, it was an experiment at a time when I was concerned about possibly entering the headroom exhausted zone to the detriment of the gear. It never happened in either set-up. The speakers were never compared A-B but my wife preferred the low end of the Polks but the mid-to-highs of the ALS. I prefer the ALS. Not the same as ALS III like B-man, mind you.
  5. Yes, they can dance on wood floors. Oh, yes they can, I know they can, can, Yes, they can great gosh almighty, Oh, yes, they can, I know they can, can. If they have adhesive backed rubber feet like my Super Junior did, the little rubber feet will migrate on the bottom, leaving behind an adhesive trail, reminiscent of slug mucous trails. Clean up & reapply.
  6. The weather...
  7. Disc two of King Crimson, Heavy Construkction, ends with a David Bowie song on which Fripp originally played the iconic theme, Heroes.
  8. A new addition to the LP c collection.
  9. Sat & listened to many LPs–rock, jazz, soul– before looking through the classical selection, just hoping Virgil Fox might be there. Eureka! Collected Biggs as well to fortify myself for a long walk home, balanced with one LP under each arm, humming imaginary fugues. Virgil Fox, Heavy Organ–Bach Live at the Filmore East . E. Power Biggs, Bach: The Four Great Toccata and Fugues; The Four Antiphonal Organs of the Cathedral of Freiburg Played Simultaneously Looking up antiphonal, this would be spectacular to hear live!
  10. King Crimson, Heavy Construction. Crim's 2000's European Tour on three CDs includes a 45 minute video of the band's performance in Rome, Italy. At times abrasive, at times skonkin!, at times abstruse, at times heavy konsrtuktion...gotta be in the right frame of mind for this. All three CDs loaded but shut it down before my sweetheart gets home. I once took her to see this particular KC & tour, that was enough for her. Perfectly understandable.
  11. 'Twas the first article/review wherein I heard of Bob Carver. For me this where it all started.
  12. A three disc compilation of Eberhard Weber's Colours recordings: Yellow Fields (1975), Silent Feet (1977), and Little Movements (1980), the latter is spinning now. Very nice.
  13. In the liner notes, the first side of the album is described as "a bouquet of ear-catching melodies", the second as "the cerebral side", the third as "The kid gets heavy", and the fourth is titled "Baby Needs a New Pair of Snakeskin Boots (A Pop Operetta)"
  14. A very cool introduction, looking forward to stories behind the gear. Welcome!
