  1. I believe the work was done by NASA.
  2. I like the volume control on the amp. You can use it to limit the power output if you are worried about harming efficient speakers, and make more usable volume control on the preamp. If you by-amp, it helps balance the two amps. I used the TFM42 for bass, and the M1.0t for highs. I have to turn the volume down a bit on the TFM. It makes it easy to integrate the amp in a home theater set up. Adjust the volume until all the channels are the same.
  3. loner_t asked me to look inside my NASA TFM42 to see how the volume pots are wired. Note the ground wire is red.
  4. Hi Boomer. Nice to have another Okie member.
  5. There are signal generater apps for android and apple too. I used a free one on my android tablet to adjust damping on my TFM-4.0
  6. Nice speakers Kevin. I bet they work good with old tube amps from the 60's.
  7. Here is another replacement. They sell it as a 6 ohm infinity replacement. http://www.simplyspeakers.com/replacement-speaker-dome-midrange-m-330.html
  8. Good idea madmike.
  9. I found a jar of mink oil in my father's shoe shine box. It is most likely over 30 years old. It says on the back "Formulated with refined oil of mink". It is dried up into a chunk of wax. Wonder if I could thin it with something?
  10. Here is a picture of the menu screen. Similar to some DVD-audio discs. There are 3 audio set up options. I couldn't tell any difference between them.
  11. I received the Supertramp - Crime of the Century - Pure Audio Blu Ray disc that I won from Daddyjt's Karma. Thanks Mark! After loading in to my Oppo BDP-103, the first thing I found is that this is a stereo disc. I thought it would be surround sound. That's the only dissapointment I had though. The sound quality was great. Since it is stereo, I played it directly from the Oppo to the C-1 preamp(which has a new BillD mod), bypassing the Marantz receiver I use for SACD, DVD-Audio, and movies. The sound is clean, with a wide dynamic range. This will be one of my favorite CD's.
  12. Hey wrf, Please let us know how your Blu Ray pure audio disks sound. What titles did you get? How do they compare to SACD?
  13. wrf, I think most all Blu Ray players can play pure audio. IMO what killed SACD and DVD-Audio is having to have a special player. Edit: I looked up the blu ray spec and found these formats that are used by pure audio. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio - lossless encoding of up to 8 channels of audio.
  14. Daddyjt's Supertramp Blu Ray Pure Audio karma got me looking at pure audio and what's available. Some of the titles seem to be SACD or DVD-Audio titles that have been released on this new format. Does anyone have any pure audio titles to recommend? I was thinking of getting The Who - Quadrapnenia. I don't have that album in any format.
  15. I've be re discovering my old vinyl collection.
  16. Hi Sean. Welcome. There is a thump fix for the M1.0t. I'm surprised Roland didn't do it on yours.
  17. I'm listening to this in SACD 5.1 surround.
  18. I just ordered Downward Spiral by NIN SACD. Thanks for the tip.
