  1. The 85 watt amp made 125 watts at .3% distortion... Wonder how far I could push those without blowing a fuse on maggie 1.7.. soft clipping, higher voltages.. trade off to measured distortion, but at what point does that become audible? Wonder what wattage could be pushed if willing to accept a little audible distortion.. what is the absolute output wattage? The solid state a760x clips hard so probably blowing fuses due to that.. Speaking of clipping… If an amp creates high frequency artefacts at clipping which heats up and “blows” the tweeter, would adding a low pass > 22khz filter to the mid/highs amp (bi amped) can that mitigate tweeter damage when amp clips?
  2. Put in a dedicated 20 amp circuit (or 3-4) in with their own nice wall switch… 2 amplifiers per circuit. ?? Dang.. would need a new panel… Never mind…..
  3. Or cannot decide… I like alot of his covers, though some are just made satirically.. and funny as heck..
  4. Have had a long held desire to build my own speakers.. just once.. no internal crossovers. Active external crossovers with level controls for each output, individual amplification for each speaker. Maybe open baffle, just because they look cool.

1x2 of your favorite wood for stain or paint. 1/4 inch dado along one edge for top and bottom rails, both edges for intermediates. (Or no dado where bottom of record rests… then easier to take record on/off wall.. though an earthquake might see them fall off.. maybe some kind of “keeper” in the middle of where an album sits instead?) cut to desired lengths. drill mount holes. sand and finish mount slider rails appropriately spaced. slide records in and out… or pull out record from the bottom after opening whatever keeper is used) a few bucks and some time..
  6. Leo Moracchioli…. Maybe not all, but lot of them..
  7. So even of this tech can provide “perfect reproduction” that doesn’t mean my brain, my biases, would perceive it as “perfect” to me. also, how would that replace the whole body experience of feeling the thump of the base and the vibrations affecting the entire body from a well amplified and favorite track? seems it would never be able to measure up to actual sound waves hitting a body in 4d space.
  8. Tekton Polycell, or if you want to spend the Money, their Encore. https://tektondesign.com/product/full-range-speakers/flagship/polycell-15/#color 1500watts. https://tektondesign.com/product/full-range-speakers/flagship/encore/#color 800 watts. My Double Impact SE handle 500watts. https://tektondesign.com/product/full-range-speakers/flagship/double-impact-se/#color While I have personally not heard the Moabs, I heard their mid-range response was … less than stellar.. If I could have afforded the Encores, I probably would have got those. But my DI/SE sounds really good. Both have actual mid range drivers in addition to the arrays. my maggie 1.7i do not handle bass as well. Currently have a pair of the Tekton 2-10 subs working with the 1.7i pair and this works well… until the maggies start to have weird sounds in the bass.. thinking of high passing those from 100hz at the amp input, 12db drop, and raising sub freq up to match.
  9. Qobuzz hd fleetwood mac, just the tracks playlist.
