  9. Welcome to the forum CAP. It is my understanding that crossover modifications will need to be done if you intend to use the B&G ribbon
  10. I bought my Sunfire sub used and the first thing I did to it was apply Mink Oil. I used KIWI Camp Dry Mink Oil and applied it liberally to both surrounds. To look at the sub now there is no trace of it ever being done completely absorbed by the surround.
  11. Plus 1 on the Cerwin Vega remark I love mine what they do they do well. I have about 8 pair left 5 pair of 15's 2 pair of 12's and a pair of 8's. At Carverfest 2013 I took 2 pair of D9's played on 2 M500T's playing heavily laiden bass tracks it was fondly described as the roller coaster ride.
  12. All I can say is I suffer from an enjoyable sickness
  13. Gene,I will comment about the Andromeda's .After i refoamed the 4 midrange drivers and fired them up at Carverfest 2012 using a Sunfire 300x2 I was amazed with how wide the soundstage presented itself open, airy, and very detailed . It was almost as if I had Sonic Holography engaged when It was not. When they describe these speakers as creating a wall of sound there not lying.
  14. I am not trying to be smart but I still have all of them. Pair of original Amazings, 2 pair of Platinum Amazings, pair of Silver Amazings, pair of AL3's, pair of Andromeda 3's and a pair of SDA SRS Polks Infinity RS3B's more Polks SDA 1C's, 2pair Monitor 10's, Pair monitor 7's. I am one lucky guy and have a very understanding wife.
  15. Some times tightening the screws on the back of the ribbon will help .Not the screws holding the ribbons into the baffle but the two rows of screws that are closest to the center of the ribbon.See if you can isolate the area which has the buzz and then tighten the 6 screws that are in that area one row above one row below and the row in the center of the area that is buzzing. This is important only turn the 6 screws 1/8th turn maximum this is important only 1/8 turn see if this helps the buzz. I did it to my own and it did help. Should you try this you do so at your own risk. Also dont laugh I have heard about the hair dryer as well.
  16. Welcome to the forum Gary

  18. Genesis.........Suppers Ready.
  19. For 29 years I have had 4 D-9's in my setup. I have played them on two M500T's and at times 4 bridged M500T's. IMO for rock and roll nothing can touch them they just kick A$$. During that time I have blown 1 midrange and 2 tweeters. I remember when I first bought them I was blowing fuses I called CV tech support and once I told the guy I was using Carver M 500T's he told me to up the fuse to a 3&1/2 amp slo-blow fuse and have not looked back since.
  20. 20 years from now people may ask this question over again. I wonder how this kid will measure up ? Google Avery Molek an watch him knock your socks off!
  21. Actually I went with the intention of picking up a pair of Cambridge Soundworks M-80's and also listening to a pair of Klipsch Heresies. It was during conversation that he mentioned he had a pair of RS3B's so I asked could he hook them up. I ended up leaving with the Cambridge M-80's and the Infinitys. The klipsch speakers I thought were way to bright for me.
  22. I purchased a pair of 3B's about 2 months ago from a local sale. They had a few minor issues which did not become evident until I got them home. Be sure to audition with a female vocal as well as something with a piano. This will reveal issues with both the mids and tweeters. I have them playing on a Sunfire300x2 which I find to be very pleasing. I paid 350.00 for mine
  23. I don't place to much faith in people who list things for sale lately. I was looking for an SUV and called a person who had a vehicle I was really interested in I called him 3 times and emailed him twice through Craigslist . 7 days later he saw fit to call me back at which time I thanked him and informed him I bought another vehicle.
