  1. Every so often I blow the factory fuse for my left side AL Silver when listening to them quite loudly. Purchased in 1990 and redone around 2003. I'm currently running an A500x mono bridged to the left as well as another one to the right speaker. Switched amps and problem still persists occasionally on that left speaker. I had some time today to disassemble the back and check out the guts. All looks normal but I took pics to post since the experts may see something out of wack. It's not a big deal and only happens when I drive them hard but I am a perfectionist with my equipment. Just don't know why the left side speaker fuse blows and the right does not. Any help or ideas would be appreciated since my Financial Planning degree does not do much good in troubleshooting electronics. Thank you tech's!
  2. "BTW, love the chart! But your subs really should have an F3 well below 47 Hz... " Funny Phil. I thought you might notice that. Pulled that pic off google images. Liked the funny saying but disappointed with the lows graphically pictured :-)) You are sharp butha!
  3. You come up with some incredibly interesting stuff, Phil. Great post.
  4. < Ah, Celldweller. We know that one Phil! Here's one of my kids fav's from them.--Big Star Wars nerds in my fam:
  5. Another interesting selection Phil. Reminds me of Joe Piscopo reading poetry on SNL with Ian Anderson from J.Tull playing in the background. Fun stuff.
  6. Oh, that's funny DanoW. Love the "I voted" sticker on the dog's back. Kids got a chuckle too. Thanks for the smile this AM.
  7. Good eye, Aslan! Rammstein has stated several times that they are huge Tarantino fans. They deliberately copied the "Dusk to Dawn" scene as a tribute. Check out their video for "Du Hast", the other hit single from the Sehnsucht album- it's a tribute to Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs": wow. yes I see the resemblance. Hopefully no video's containing the Gimp from Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. Scalping Nazi's from Inglorious Basterd's would be ok .
  8. Charlie that was one of my favorite songs as a kid. I played it over and over again. I remember being in elementary school music class and the music teacher asked us to stand up individually and say our favorite band. I was getting ready to stand and say "ELO". Unfortunately I was so nervous that I slurred my words and it came out as "YELLOW". She said she never heard of that band and to please sit down. The kids mocked me and said--"yellow--who's that!" I was crushed because that teacher was really hot Funny the things you remember as a kid.
  9. Phil It's so bizarre yet mesmerizing. And I actually like the sound! Showed it to my 18 year old son. He said the same thing. Kind of an evolution of The Crash Test Dummies sound. Just so fun to watch those mime moves too!
  10. Hey Ken, You're a man after my own heart with a Marantz receiver. Love the music sound from them. Of course Carver & Carver related equipment is our passion. 11. "At his age EVERYBODY is seeing the effects of aging....." Getting old sucks !
  12. I would not have guessed he's 71. In fact, he looks pretty good in the picture. Sad to see his internals are hurting enough to keep him from playing effectively. A true guitar legend who has certainly seen his share of low and high points throughout his life.
