  1. Great article explaining that Davis. Thank you!
  2. Wayne That was a fantastic post that helped even the electrically challenged like me understand the issue. Those pics are also worth a 1000 words. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge my friend. I love learning from the "greats".
  3. Nice DCL! Did not catch that. You got a rare one there Chad.
  4. Ahhh (other than "The" in title) a Rex record label -- don't see that very often!
  5. The? Black Sabbath
  6. Hey Drsickstrings, I promised I'd be back after that lightning storm. Unfortunately my computer died right after that and it's now in the shop. Anyways, we extend you a warm welcome. The tech's here are incredibly knowledgeable and it sounds like you are on the right track troubleshooting your RCA jacks. We love pics and enjoy ALL audio equipment--particularly Carver's of course. Post any that you have using the "insert image" button during post reply. Your C1 will be nursed back to health in no time. Cheers!
  7. < Posted: 2 years ago: Flyboy wrote "Hello all, just got my little humble office system up and running and it only took me a year ha! I wanted to get back into vinyl but also wanted to go with equipment that was from the 70's and early 80's (at my age I am feeling nostalgic). A little back story, my father was into vinyl and for the last few years he and I had been discussing the topic. Well sadly he passed away last year and I inherited the turntable. My father in law who passed away in the early 90's was also an audiophile so I inherited the Bose 901's that he bought new in the very early 80's to go with his Carver/DBX equipment and Nakamichi 700ZXL Tape Deck. Long short is I ended up with a not so great looking set of 901's. So last year I decided to put it all together. I re-foamed the 901's and restored the cabinets myself with some invaluable advice from David at DHS Speaker service. He then recapped and upgraded the 901 Equalizer. I had a custom plinth made for my dads Thorens TD 160 Turntable. I had never seen one made out of Eucalyptus (grows in Cali where Dad lived) so I had it done and it turned out beautiful I think. I am currently using the Denon DL 110 MC cartridge on the turntable. I then acquired the Carver C-1 and M1.0t to complete the system. The C-1 was just modified by wrf (and again I thank him for the wonderful job). The only thing left is the MKII mod for the M1.0t (and I am on the list). Kind Regards, Flyboy" Hey Flyboy. So glad to have you back posting again. I joined in February and missed your original post above. I did see the pics of your beautiful 901's and that Thorens TD160 TT with the Eucalyptus plinth! Awesome stuff. Do you still have all that equipment ??? Did you get the Mk2 mod to the M1.0t? Any upgrades (or downgrades) over the past two years? Updated pics are always welcome! Btw, how did u arrive at your username? ....and keep posting. You've got some great gear!
  8. Welcome Dr. Sickstrings! Can't post right now. Lightning storm!!! I'll be back.

  11. L_t, you are absolutely right! On the chat forum you said this song PERFECTLY describes OCCD. I thought that was worth capturing in this thread. Now it's forever captured!
  12. Great to have you back posting again Charlie!
  13. Awesome Boomer! --the doomsday plane! Very cool. I went to instructor school at Altus awhile back as a Tanker toad. I agree totally. Some great machines and even better folks there!. Again, so great to have you here! Cheers
  14. Hey Kevin, Great to have a Carver Audiophile from Oklahoma! From your avatar name, you by chance wouldn't happen to be a boom operator based in Altus, OK would you? Very cool set up you have my friend. Pleeease post pics when you can!! We LUV all audio (& video) equipment here--but are of course partial to anything created by the BobFather. Those Norman Lab 432 speakers are fairly rare. How'd you score those? Very cool. So glad you are now on board the Carver train with us, Boomer. Let the music play on!!!
  15. Great idea on the dust caps B-man. Never had to fix any, but will keep that trick in my back pocket.
  16. That will make my AL ribbons sing Fill. Nice!
  17. "I thought it sounded great. Bose turned up at my base in england " That's a great story Hambone. Don't apologize...we enjoy folk's audio journeys throughout the years. Were you based at Mildenhall or Lakenheath? I have flown out of those bases more times than I can count. So great to have you here. And yes, that sonic holography is still amazing to this day!
  18. Hey hambone. Welcome to the CarverSite! So glad you found us. That's a great system you got there. With some love and care, you should be able to nurse her back to health. We have an amazing amount of wisdom and experience here to help you. We love ALL types of audio and particularly have a passion for anything Bob Carver related--phase linear, sunfire, LLC, etc. Please post pics if you can using the insert image icon on your computer. Welcome aboard the carver train my friend !
