SteveMKentucky 70 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Never heard of this album so had to look it up. Very strange genre for Frank Zappa considering... From Wikipedia: "Francesco Zappa (born in 1717 most probably in Milan, died on 17 January 1803 in The Hague[1]) was an Italian cellist and composer who lived most of his adult life in The Hague, the Netherlands. He was highly regarded for his virtuoso cello playing and his compositions were published and distributed throughout Europe. Zappa was of importance to the musical life of the Netherlands, and made substantial contributions to the quality, vibrancy and international outlook of The Hague's 18th-century music scene as a performer, composer, concert organiser and teacher.)

Actually Zappa was more of a classical composer than just a guy writing crazy lyrics (like everyone thinks). If you ever run across a CD of Zappa's "Ensemble Modern" you'll begin to realize that his music (at least a great deal of it) had amazing modern classical composition; despite the strange sounds and raunchy lyrics.
SteveMKentucky 70 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Described by the Wall Street Journal as "one of pop music's sneakiest masterpieces," this album was one of the early, fully digital recordings. Of course, the music sounds like Steely Dan. Good post. Thanks.
