fill35U 1,846 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 City of the Asleep - "Transcendissonance" at split-notes.com Music that was engineered as a "worst case scenario" with regards to harmoniousness! To some of my friends, it's worse than waterboarding. But it's fascinating that despite the composer utilizing the most "wrong" tunings he could research, patterns kept emerging in the chaos, and it's definitely still music. 2
dr_gallup 42 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Thanks for that, I'm a huge Buchanan fan. Never heard that live version before. He used to do a Christmas concert every year in Pittsburgh at the Stanley theater which I managed to get to several years in a row. One year someone set off a smoke bomb in the audience and they stopped the show and cleared out the theater. We hung around and after the air cleared he started playing again. Most of the crowd had left so we got right down front and Roy put on a show for the ages. Have to say when I heard he had committed suicide it hit me a lot harder than the death of Bowie or Prince or practically any other musician except maybe Stevie Ray. 1
