Roland gs 20 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) Been lurking a while and soaking up info from the site. Big thank you to those that have taken the time to share their experience and expertise. Helped me through repairing and updating my long time love (CM-1090) I've had for 30 some years. Working on a M500 I picked up with a blown channel etc. and thought I was on the home stretch today till I found one emitter resistor had one side failed open. (R172) Carver part # ERF-5GEKR22N described as Network. Not totally surprised in that the whole channel was smoked including many resistors etc just missed it in my initial check. Searched the site and didn't find anything on a replacement if available (lol) or a workaround. Any advice and or condolences would be appreciated. On a brighter note I picked up a Phase Linear 400 a couple weeks ago and have a bunch of goodies ordered from White Oak Audio. Excited to get going on that as well. Thanks in advance, Jason (Also posted in M500 section) Edited March 17 by Roland gs 7
Sk1Bum 12,996 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Hello Jason and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us! Congrats on getting your receiver going, and I wish I could point you in the right direction on your amp. I have an M500t in two different systems, and it's my favorite amp. Hopefully someone who knows this amp will chime in, and I wish you the best of luck with your repairs. 1
Dennis47 1,010 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 WELCOME from southern Indiana @Roland gs! That White Oak mod to your PL 400 should be quite the experience.
stereo_dog 1,617 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Welcome to the Carversite! I am in NE Indiana. The PL 400 is a nice unit.
BobTFM35 3,062 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Welcome to the Carver Site!! Like your listing of gear. My son has the 1090 in one system and the 400 used in the second of his three systems. Is the 400 the first series or the second series? Enjoy the site and the modifications of your gear!!
Roland gs 20 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Thanks all for the welcomes. It's the second series Bob. 1
