Guest Resident Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Hello, Thought I would just introduce myself. New to Carver gear though I must say as I was personally a fan favorite of Sansui gear for quite some time. Till someone showed me the light and the power of Carver. I have to say I was amazed and definitely happy to experience what Carver is. Clean sweet multitudes of power for any need you might have. My current set up is a Carver M1.5 power amp, Carver C-1 pre amp and a Carver DTL 200 CDP with Epicure 3.0 speakers. Life is definitely grand again

B-Man 4,781 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Welcome to the forum !! Do you still have your Sansui gear ? I had a friend years ago who brought a bunch of high-end Sansui gear back from Japan when he was in the Army. Definitely good sounding gear - the amp had plenty of power to drive his JBLs. Thanks for finding us and sharing - I think you'll enjoy yourself...
Retriever 1,128 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I had to give it up due to back injury, oh well there always the coronet.
slbenz 110 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Welcome as well. From one newbie to another. I used to own a late 70's Sansui receiver that I eventually sold to a relative.
TNRabbit 371 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I had to give it up due to back injury, oh well there always the coronet. Damn! Sorry, dude~ Mine: Replaced the DW5000 double pedal with a 9000 double, but all else is the same.
Retriever 1,128 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Nice kit TNRabbit! The fade is nice looking, bunny is a nice touch! That's the last photo I took as it went out the door, sold to friend.
bored184 2 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Welcome, I would recommend hanging onto your wallet! The more you read the more you will want to spend...
Guest Resident Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Thanks all. No not a drummer, I could only wish to have the coordination and stamina to play the drums. I do however appreciate great drummers such as the one that is in my avatar, Neil Peart. Then there are also old favorites like Buddy Rich who was just simply amazing, and Freddie Gruber. My music tastes vary greatly though I mostly like the classic rock and a bit of progressive rock. My likes range from that of RUSH, Sade, Moody Blues, Steely Dan and so on. @ bman most of the Sansui gear is gone less a lone AU-417 that I use in conjuction with a polk audio sub and a pair of DCM Timeframe TF 400 speakers for 2 channel hd set up. Works really well.
