  7. There's currently an HBO documentary about Earth, Wind & Fire: Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial vs. That's the Weight of the World. I've not watched it yet, but it has a 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes web site.
  8. TajMo has a nice take on this too.

  10. I had that type of speaker at a previous house. They were mounted tucked away under a first story eave facing the patio space. Completely out of the way and protected from the sun and weather. Don't remember the brand but they sounded great. Played them for 10 years and they were working fine when we sold the house.

  13. These are the speakers on eBay I was talking about, buyer is asking $150 each shipped but they are not your average speaker, these things really rock and sound great. Only down side is they are a bit large but if you have the room not sure you can beat them at this price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/236815187976?_skw=klipsch+ca&itmmeta=01KVZ1FN3HHX2QSF9H9YRV0965&hash=item3723490008:g:E8MAAeSwto1qBOW2&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA8GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xBPbP6jalJVCDR5D8McU62X88FwnpimqSwfsC3SQgfAMVFokWYAA1rjthSLjUvb1HOiVBA2cZkQBJc%2FFLG9NOeGNsnPFiJI63EvqzpUZXCjKjF%2Fudn1SKToMXK8Yjxmpz8w%2BAPF2eEq8LThx94WOOoDvy4v7BtJD%2Fib%2FZTzaPgWQSwgmBbdy2X2rLWOnD1e0JOVNF7t52tV7wSvbTXgpD8jQYCikpM%2FljYueA9uQ7tcAO3FhEktwzZ1TCE3VJUjyetbQwGwv5hG55IBsDqGNlGTtXM%2FtzmJiFWU0%2BpiXuoT5A%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4jSvuHfZw https://www.klipsch.com/uk/products/ca-800t-outdoor-speaker
  14. Welcome from Virginia! Enjoy your stay!
  15. I have seen these B&O A9 speakers in Palm Springs used outside on patios a few times. Apparently there are different grille covers - saw some that were a foliage pattern. It's B&O so they have to be expensive. But they look good.
  16. Ohmigosh, I just now noticed, the Polk Atrium 8s are $185.25 each. I thought that price was for a pair until just a few minutes ago.
  17. Welcome great to have you with us!!!
  18. Hello m68e3 and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us! There are some very talented folks that hang out here, and there are many threads about the M1.0t and M1.5t amps. Both are very popular here. There are also threads about upgrading and modifying both amps. I hope you find what you're looking for. We do have the owner's and system manuals for both of those amps in the Manuals and Specsheets area. The link is at the top of the page or you can use this one: https://thecarversite.com/carvermanuals/

  20. Hello all, Happy to have joined! Over the past year I've accumulated an amount of carver gear in various states of repair. I've already re-worked a couple of TFM-15's and am looking forward to working on a M1.0t and M1.5t as my free time allows. I've been in and out of audio equipment for a long time, but never delved much into the repairs side of amplifiers until recently. Electronics is a big part of my work, but still learning more about amplifier designs as I go. Plenty of fun hobby work ahead! Glad to meet you all!
  21. You can also get a dedicated subwoofer with that series.

  23. If you dont mind buying used i see there's some Klipsch CA 800's on eBay- they are beasts and solid performers- bigger pro versions of the 650's.
  24. If someone gave me one to try with my own system in my own environment, I would be curious and try it. I certainly didn't trust their demonstration.
  25. Could it actually change the sound? Possibly. We all know that almost anything placed in a room can change the sound a little. A diffuser can. A bookshelf can. A plant can. The real question is whether it performs better than: a small diffuser, a decorative sculpture, a bookshelf full of books, at its selling price. That's where the burden of proof belongs. My assessment From an acoustics and engineering standpoint: Reflecting/scattering high frequencies: plausible. Generating even-order harmonics: highly questionable. Making a room "acoustically transparent": marketing language. Producing dramatic soundstage improvements: unproven. Worth the asking price without independent measurements: doubtful. If someone handed me one for free, I'd happily fool with it. If someone asked me to spend my own money on it, I'd want to see controlled blind-test results and measurement data first. Right now, the description reads more like audiophile marketing poetry than acoustic engineering. Give me some solid data and I'll hit the "I believe button". But for now, I'll assume it is much like the "super-whamodyne, mega-twist, copper/silver infused premium" audio cable and take a hard pass.
  26. Agreed! I really enjoy mine. I also have a Wiim Mini that I use in my metal working shop.
