Hello halfWave and welcome to thecarversite.com from your neighbor to the east, SWMO. Glad you found us! There are a few threads here regarding the C4000 and the 4000t. We have the service manual for the C4000 located here: https://thecarversite.com/manuals/mandir/Carver C-4000 Service Manual.pdf Hopefully that will help you get your pre better than new.

Hello all, I just joined today after stumbling onto this site. While I wasn't intending to look up Carver audio equipment today one link led to another and one hour later hear I am signed up lol. I have a Carver C4000 I bought new in 1980 (# 3593C). It still works fine and I use it with Hafler amplifiers to drive a pair of Infinity Q2 speakers. I did have a Carver M-400 back in the day but sold it to a friend. Who still has it. Its probably time to consider cleaning and recapping the C4000. Maybe add any later modifications if that is possible. So I'll look around at the manuals and forum posts. I'm in no rush this moment. Of course any suggestions are also welcome!

I saw a PBS show with The Dukes of September. It may have been Austin City Limits. They played each others hits. It was a great show.
