Introducing myself, plus AL-III questions
PMAT replied to FThumb's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
Many speaker designs have out of phase drivers. I have a custom input setup on my Amazing Silvers that allows me to change phase easily between the woofers and the ribbon. While I can hear a difference I couldn't say which is better. Try both. On a side note I sold a pair of AL III's to a guy that plays them unbelievably loud. He crosses over the signal so the woofers don't get really low frequencies. I am talking REALLY LOUD. The ribbons just take it, though I don't know how. I think the 48 inch ribbons are more robust than the larger ones. I have back-up ribbons ready to go but mine are still dishing it out just fine. -
